Chapter 21
The wedding decoration was entirely Emilio’s responsibility, and Maddalena did not ask a single question until the day of the wedding. She was mentally prepared to just go through the motions.
However, when she looked out the window in the room and saw the hot air balloons floating in the air and the endless line of luxury cars, she couldn’t help but ask, “Is it too extravagant?”
Emilio was wearing a moon-white suit today, matching hers. The usual coldness was reduced as he held Maddalena’s hand, raising an eyebrow in apparent confusion at her words.
“Where was the grand celebration?”
Because Maddalena had no relatives and lived here, the wedding was kept simple.
Maddalena’s heart was stirred, and she couldn’t help but turn her head to look at the man beside her. Perhaps her gaze was too intense, as the man quickly glanced over, his eyes showing a hint of confusion, as if asking her what was
Wrong.
Maddalena moved her lips, wondering if all of this had been prepared by him.
Before she could even ask, the man had already lowered his head and whispered to her.
“Do you like it?”
She loved it. It was even more perfect than she had imagined the wedding would be!
Maddalena blinked, flashed a bright smile, and nodded at him.
The makeup artist had someone carry the main veil in, while Emilio exited at the right moment.
Downstairs, all the guests who came to attend the wedding had expressions of astonishment and emotion on their faces, except for Silvano.
He looked gloomy, wishing he could set fire to the balloons and flowers in front of him.
But thinking about what he had to do next, he could only push aside that thought in his mind, fidgeting with his tie in frustration, looking at Jake beside him.
“I went to the dressing room, you helped me watch outside, and immediately notify me if there is any movement.”
He briefly explained and then couldn’t wait to sneak into the dressing room.
Jake nodded and found a secluded spot near the reception area. From there, he could see the entrance to the dressing room. If anything happened, he could quickly inform Silvano.
Just as he had just stood still, a group of people surrounded Emilio and walked in.

The few people walking at the front were very familiar to Jake, they were none other than the top figures of the Los Angeles pyramid.
Even when he and Silvano encountered these people, they only nodded and bowed. But these people were even more honest in front of Emilio, and even seemed to be trying to please him.
He had thought Emilio was just an ordinary working-class person, but now it seems that things are far from simple!
Jake’s heart skipped a beat as a sense of foreboding washed over him.
He wanted to inform Silvano immédiately, but as soon as he turned his head, he saw Silvano entering the dressing
room!
Little did they know that the dressing room at this moment was just a facade.
When Silvano entered, all he saw was an empty room.
He was looking around when suddenly several black-clad bodyguards appeared out of nowhere and immediately re- strained him.
“What are you doing! Let me go!”
Silvano struggled desperately but couldn’t move.
“Do you know who I am? Let me go!”
Those bodyguards were expressionless, efficient in their movements, and silent, showing no intention of acknowledg- ing him at all.
Only the leader heard these words and laughed.
“We certainly knew who you were, Mr. Cavanna, didn’t we? Mr. Loredan invites you to the show, he has found you an excellent seat.”
