Chapter 19
On the other side, Silvano impatiently dialed Jake’s phone number.
He had a feeling that if he didn’t do anything, Maddalena really wouldn’t come back.
“Jake, could you help me find out where Maddalena is now, and what is the background of the man with her?”
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, then Jake’s voice came through, sounding puzzled: “A man? The one from the bridal shop last time?”
“Yes, his name is Emilio, and he just got married to Maddalena.”
Silvano’s voice sounded a bit tired.
“Married? Maddalena really got married?! How is that possible? Wasn’t she supposed to only marry you?”
Jake heard the news and almost jumped up immediately.
Upon hearing these words, Silvano’s heart felt like it had been fiercely twisted.
Everyone knew about Maddalena’s kindness towards him, except for him.
Jake quickly comforted Silvano on the other end of the phone when he sensed that he was not in a good mood.
“However, this person with the surname Loredan is a bit unfamiliar, probably not from our circle, most likely just a nobody! Silvano, don’t worry, that guy definitely can’t compare to you!”
After he finished speaking, he immediately went to help find someone.
Maddalena did not refuse Emilio’s proposal to go to the hot springs.
There have been too many things happening these days, she can hardly keep up. She also wants to take this opportuni- ty to take a good rest.
Emilio said he would go get some snacks and drinks, while Maddalena went into the hot spring first. She submerged herself in the pool, completely clearing her mind.
Not even the sound of the door opening caught her attention. It wasn’t until the heavy footsteps sounded behind her that Maddalena remembered Emilio had not come in yet.
“Emilio, why were you so slow?” She turned around, but suddenly froze.
Standing behind her was not Emilio, but Silvano.
“Maddalena–”

Silvano looked at the person in front of him with red eyes.
“How come you are here?”
Maddalena suddenly stood up and tried to leave. However, she was stopped by Silvano grabbing her wrist.
“I finally found you!”
Silvano held Maddalena’s hand, wanting to pull her into his arms. But he was slapped hard by Maddalena.
He covered his face, looking a bit ugly. “Maddalena, this is the second time you have laid hands on me.”
“So what?” Maddalena looked at him coldly, with no warmth in her eyes. “Silvano, have you forgotten what I told you last time? We are done.”
Maddalena pushed him away forcefully, her face full of disgust.
“If I were you, I wouldn’t continue to entangle ourselves. We are all adults, let’s not make things so ugly!”
Silvano looked at her with eyes full of hurt, feeling a bit at a loss, and slowly took a step back.
“I didn’t mean that, I just wanted to say… I’m sorry, Maddalena, it’s my fault, can you please not be angry? Can we go home? When we get back, we’ll have the wedding!”
He looked eagerly at Maddalena in front of him, hoping to see a touch of emotion on her face.
“I knew you married that man just to spite me! Can you divorce him, please?” Silvano’s voice was low, with a hint of longing and pleading.
He took a step forward, wanting to grab Maddalena’s hand again, but he didn’t expect a long and powerful arm to block between them.
Emilio returned at some point. He stood in front of Maddalena, his expression cold and his gaze sharp as a blade on Silvano.
“Mr. Cavanna, please behave yourself.”
