Got injections, took medicine, did chemotherapy.
Ruth was always watching me like a hawk.
She said, “See, ain’t I the best example? As long as you follow the treatment, you’ll definitely recover.”
But I knew my body, my time was running out.
Seeing Ruth’s haggard face and the dark circles under her eyes, I felt guilty.
While she was resting, I tried to get up and pour water by myself, but my legs went weak and I fell to the ground.
The glass shards cut my wrist, and blood gushed out instantly.
“Naomi!”
Colin burst in at some point and just held me tight, took off his shirt and pressed it against the wound.
“Naomi, don’t scare me! How come Ruth can’t even take care of herself? Doctor, come quickly!”
I finally came to my senses and realized Colin had misunderstood.
So I slowly pushed him away and said coldly, “It’s none of Ruth’s business, and it’s none of your business either.”
“She was my friend, I didn’t want to bother her, and you’re not even considered a friend, so my business has nothing to do with you.”

Colin closed his mouth, didn’t say anything, just stood quietly on the side.
After the doctor treated my wound, he got teary–eyed and asked me in a hoarse voice, “Why didn’t you tell me? If we had treated it earlier, maybe…”
I interrupted him, with no emotion in my voice.
“Because I didn’t want to live anymore, Colin, don’t you get it?”
“Every time I see you, I’m reminded of the painful past, how you kept hurting me for Selena, you know it.”
“No! Naomi, don’t say that. I will definitely cure you. We still have a future together…”
I didn’t say anything more, just quietly closed my eyes and stopped looking at him.
After that day, the doctor would shake his head every time he walked out of the ward.
I took a lot of medicine, but my hair kept falling out in bunches.
Until that day, I had just finished taking my medicine when I suddenly vomited a mouthful of blood.
Ruth finally broke down and ran out crying.
After a while, I faintly heard her arguing with Colin.
“It’s no use! I said it’s no use! Don’t let her suffer anymore!”
“I took her to the best hospital, found the best specialist, there must be hope…”
“Don’t fool yourself anymore, Colin! Can you bear to watch her suffer so much in her final days?”

“I drove you guys there.”

Suddenly, the roar of the wings woke me up.
I suddenly sat up and saw a wide runway outside the car window, with at helicopter ready to take off at any moment.
Ruth was also surprised: “Colin, where did you bring us?!”
Colin just kept his lips tightly sealed and didn’t say a word.
“Naomi, don’t worry, I will definitely cure you.”
A few men in black stopped Ruth and said, “Ms. Ruth, we’ll take you back.”
“Colin, are you crazy?! Where are you taking Naomi?!”

Ruth was roaring behind us, but Colin just ignored it and kept walking faster with me in his arms.
And I could only sit on the plane, watching Ruth getting further and further away from me.
