Chapter 17
My head was hurting, and in a daze I heard Colin crying, “Why is this. happening… why won’t the bleeding stop… please wake up soon…”
But I couldn’t wake up, I just felt my eyelids getting heavier and heavier, I couldn’t open them at all.
“She missed the best time for treatment, there’s no need to continue treatment anymore.”
The doctor sighed as he treated the patient.
“She could have lived a few more years, but she had no will to live.”
Colin was struck by lightning, trembling lips, he grabbed the doctor’s arm and exclaimed, “What?! What disease does my wife have?”
The doctor was shocked by his reaction, “She’s your wife, and you didn’t even know she had stomach cancer?”
“And I remember you wouldn’t even let her take painkillers! Didn’t you forbid the hospital from selling her medicine? What are you pretending
now?”
“You’re talking nonsense!”
Colin suddenly raised his voice and angrily shouted, “My wife is not sick! You quack, I want to change doctors! Get me the best doctor here!”
He took out his phone and made a call. Soon, one expert after another came into the ward, shook their heads, and left.
“Mr. Fernandez, your wife’s cancer cells have spread throughout her body. It looks like she doesn’t have much time left…”

“No way!”
Colin finally snapped. He grabbed the doctor’s collar and slammed him hard, almost flipping the whole hospital.
It wasn’t until Ruth rushed over and slapped Colin that he finally quieted
down.
Ruth pointed at his nose and scolded, “Do you think things aren’t messy enough? Naomi is where she is today because of you! Can you just stay away from Naomi from now on, okay?”
The ward was silent, and after a while Colin’s hoarse voice broke the silence, “I won’t make a fuss anymore, okay? I’ll just stay here quietly and
watch over her.”
“No way! You guys were already divorced, no connection at all! Colin, what’s with the fake emotions now? Back then you were plotting against Naomi, wishing she would die, right? Who are you regretting for now!”
“I…”
Colin moved his lips, but couldn’t come up with a comeback.
He could only stagger over, kneel down by my bed, and hold my hand.
“Naomi, please, don’t push me away…”
I couldn’t say a word, but instinctively used all my strength to pull my
hand out.
Colin was taken aback, his face full of pain.
“Naomi, don’t do this, please don’t do this to me, I know I was wrong, I really know I was wrong…”
“Alright! Stop acting!”
Chapter 17
Ruth looked at him calmly and coldly said, “Do you even know how to feel sorry? Just get lost and stop bothering us!”
She pushed Colin aside, reached out and touched my head, tears started falling.
“Naomi, I’m sorry I’m late, I should have picked you up myself…….”
With the full treatment in the hospital, I rested for over half a month before gradually regaining consciousness.
For the past two weeks, Ruth has been with me, telling me her love story.
As she was talking, her tears started falling.
“Naomi, wake up already, you haven’t even seen me get married yet…”
I slowly raised my hand and gently touched Ruth’s face, saying, “Don’t cry, silly, I’m not dead yet…”
Ruth widened her eyes and ran to call for help.
“Doctor! Come quick, she’s awake….
