Chapter Nine
Celestina’s Povl
This was my fourth try attempting to see Dr Brown the doctor whom the pharmacist had recommended before I could get a prescription. I really hate being in the hospital. It reminded me of how my mum died, and following her death, I really started developing problems with paranoia. The doctors said it was likely a trauma reaction.
I was already tired of sitting at the hospital reception, I guess I’ll just try again tomorrow. I stood up and left the hospital. The receptionist gave me a weird look as I left, but I paid her no mind.
The hospital wasn’t far from my hotel, just a few blocks away. I decided to walk and enjoy the scenery, as I neared the hotel.
I see a familiar figure standing just in front of the building my Dad and I would have dodged by our eyes and he calls my name, jogging

I decided to continue walking like he wasn’t there, by the way, he was never there for me since Alexandrian entered our lives.I
He stood in front of me, “Hey I’m talking to you, Celestina! Why are you ignoring me.”
I clenched my fist in anger, how does he have the effort to ask why I’m ignoring him after how he has treated me all my life??
He won’t even be half way across the world looking for me if I hadn’t frozen the funds account.
Hook up, facing him squarely, and I almost feel bad for him, his eyes look sunken, and he looks like he’s been drinking without any sleep.
“What do you want? 1 ask coldly, trying not to cause a scene.l
“Why did you just run off and disappear like that. You had me really worried.”
I started laughing hysterically, “Good one Dad, you almost had me fooled there. Why did I run away? Maybe because I was tired of being everyone door mat, and oh, my husband having an affair with Alexandrian and getting her pregnant with all your approvals.”
His eyes widened, he didn’t think I knew.
“But…but he stuttered.
“Come off it, Dad, I know the truth. Don’t bother lying. And I promise you all, I won’t let you guys lock me up in an asylum so you could squander all my mother worked for. I’m aware of all the plans.“L
7’m sorry, Celesting, I’m sorry for how I treated you all these years. It isn’t even about the money; I just want my daughter home; I’m sorry for all the years of emotional abuse.”
My Dad said his voice sounded like he was holding back tears.
7m sorry Dad, your years too late. You have your perfect little daughter back home with your wife who you left my mum for. Isn’t it ironic how Alexandrian is now pregnant for my own husband?”
My Dad tried to reach out, but I jerked my hand away, I didn’t want to be near him or any of them. He ruined it all by bringing Angela and Alexander into my life.
I’m sure my mother died of a broken heart over his abandonment.
If you dare to follow me inside, I’ll alert the security and lock you up.”
“Please, my daughter” he pleads, but I walk past him, my heart feeling heavy, but I can’t afford to cave into my emotions.
It’s all an act.!
I rush to my hotel room and pack my bags, I don’t feel safe anymore here, knowing my location is now known.
I go to the receptionist, cancel my reservation,, and switch to a hotel in a more guarded area with better security.
I would make plans to leave for another country as soon as I’m able to see the doctor tomorrow. I shake the last few pills left in the bottle, funny how I’ve felt amazing today as I forgot to take my supplements and pills.
Maybe it was just a coincidence again; my phone buzzed aggressively beside me, and I kissed my teeth in irritation. Maybe it was Jake trying to call me with a strange number again.
I checked the caller ID, and to my surprise, it was my lawyer. I picked up the call. “Hello Mr Tanner, I’m surprised seeing your call.”
“Yes malam, your husband and your family are hinging on your mental health, claiming you’re insane. And he is your legal guardian he can take over all you own with the right strings. I suggest you come back immediately and change this.”
My heart skipped several beats, I guess it’s a full–on battle now.
“Okay Mr Tanner, I make the arrangements. Just keep this under control.”%
1 sure will. Good night then.”
I let out a deep breath; I’ll have to see that damn doctor tomorrow, to get fresh pills and handle this mess. No one was stealing my inheritance from me.l
