Chapter Fifteen>
The following days after I signed the papers for the divorce, Celestina completely went off my radar.}
All my attempts to reach her were futile, I couldn’t even reach her through her lawyer. Worse still I had been officially invited by the police based on Celestina’s complaint.
I texted my lawyer, asking him to appear on my behalf. I was scared to go out, fearing I’d be publicly shamed.}
Currently, I was being dragged on social media by the second; my house had been vandalized several times. The compound even stunk from the constant rotten eggs and tomatoes being thrown by passers–by.}
My phone beeped my lawyer had responded saying he could only be present during the interrogation and not appear on my behalf due to the seriousness of the allegation.
Angrily, I threw my phone against the wall, cracking my phone screen; anger welled up in my heart like a rising loaf. All this was that damn Alexanderian’s fault.”
I picked up my cellphone and grabbed my car keys, I had to dress in all black and wear shades to conceal my identity.
I was going to drag Alexandrian to the police station, and she was going to confess. I had already lost my wife, career, and reputation because of her. I wasn’t also going to be locked up for her crime.
On reaching their house, she rushed out to welcome me with a bright smile like all was well. I held her at arm’s length before she could hug me, “Stop with the theatrics already. Get your ass dressed, your following me to the police station and you’ll confess to your crime.“} She ignored me and sweetly said with a smile I said, “Come inside; my neighbors may be listening to you talk crazy.”}]
I followed her inside begrudgingly, clenching my fist at her reaction. I could feel myself redden in anger; why was she acting so calm and cool when my life was literally on the line?”
A backup idea came to my head, and I quickly put my hand into my trouser pocket and turned on the sound recorder before she could notice.
When I closed the door, I confronted her again. “Alexandrian, I’m very serious. Put on some clothes, and follow me to the police. I’m being called to answer for tampering with Celestina’s pills and making her temporarily insane.“}
Alexandrian looked at her nails, blowing an invisible flint. I wanted to shake her till her teeth rattled, but instead,I took a deep breath.} “I’m talking to you!” I said my voice higher.
She raises up her eyes and smiles, “Oh,l, kno,w love, but I’m here wondering how stupid you think I am. Do you really think I’ll confess that it was me and not you, I don’t want to end up in prison either.“}
Finally, she was talking, unknowingly, falling into my trap. But I still had to keep my act up.
“What do you mean! So I should be convicted for a crime I’m innocent of. I promised you already; the judge will probably be kinder to you cause you are pregnant. Please, I’m begging you to just confess.” I said feigning desperation.
“I won’t.” She screams, finally losing her cool. Her eyes spit fire and mischief, “You think I don’t know you were in contact with Celestina? You even told her I’m guilty, you begged her like a spineless fool. You want me to confess so that I’ll be locked up and you two will settle your disputes and be a happy family. I won’t allow it!”
My mouth fell open in surprise, the surprise quickly turned to disgust and anger for Alexandrian.}
“You have cameras watching me in my room, don’t you? All this while you’ve been watching me and Celestina monitoring our every life, hearing each conversation. How desperate can you be?“}
She shrugs like it’s nothing, “I won’t let her have you; if I can’t have you, no one else can.” She looked crazy and obsessive.
I didn’t even want to be around her anymore, I had gotten the confession I needed.
“I wish I never got you pregnant. I give you forty–eight hours to make a confession; else you’ll get what’s coming your way.”

She laughed in my face, “Do your worst, Jason; even if you wait a while year, I still wouldn’t confess. And guess what, you are stuck with me, so stop making a fool of yourself by begging a woman who doesn’t want you anymore.”
A muscle jerked in my face, “forty–eight hours.” I repeat and leave. I drive out of the house angry cautioning myself not to drive too fast and get myself a speeding ticket.
When I stop at a traffic light, I take out my cellphone and save the recording; I won’t turn her immediately. I want to give Alexandrian one last chance to come clean herself being the mother of my unborn child.
