“It’s nothing. I can still handle him.”
Javien unsheathed his sword and charged at Eldwin.
The two of them started fighting, and swords danced in the air. In just a few seconds, Eldwin lost the duel.
Javien pointed the sword at Eldwin and said in a cold voice, “Leave Catalina alone, or else I will teach you a lesson.”
“I have always been the one she loves. Everyone in the Royal Capital knows that. Who do you think you are?” Eldwin said with resentment.
I stepped next to Javien and yelled at Eldwin, “Enough! I no longer love you. Stop clinging to me. I absolutely loathe your antics!”
For a inoment, Eldwin seemed hurt. “You loathe me?”
I gave him a definite answer. My voice was icy as I said, “That’s right.”
Eldwin’s sword slipped out of his hand, but he still refused to accept the truth. “You’re still mad, aren’t you, Catalina? It’s because I did not defend you in front of the king, right? I will go to the king right now and clarify everything.”
Just then, the royal guards came to the Shaw family’s estate. This time, they barged in without a word and dragged Rosalie out from the backyard.
Spotting Eldwin, Rosalie immediately called for help. “Help me, Eld!”
However, Eldwin did not seem to hear her. He stared at me stubbornly, until Rosalie broke free from the guards and rushed over to grab his sleeve.
He finally snapped out of his reverie and asked the guards, “Why are you arresting her?”
One of the guards said, “After an investigation at the queen’s orders, we suspect that Rosalie Shaw is behind the poisoning. Worry not, Lord Gerinings. This investigation is led by the Court of Justice. They will be fair and just. They will not let an innocent person take the blaine.”
I assumed that Eldwin would defend Rosalie tirelessly, but unexpectedly, he turned to her and said, “The Court of Justice is just doing their jobs, Rosle. They are bringing you over in hopes of finding out the truth. If you are truly innocent, they will not pin the blame on you
