Chapter 5
After I vented my grievances, Ralph’s anger reached its peak.
At this moment, the clock pointed to half past six in the morning.
I didn’t sleep a wink all night.
But I wasn’t tired at all, on the contrary, I was very excited.
Ralph slammed the door and stormed out, determined to confront Byron.
The room finally quieted down.
I took out the hidden suitcase and broke the SIM card.
I boarded the high–speed train back to my hometown with ease.
This is also part of my plan. I just said that I don’t trust either of these brothers.
Sowing discord, at most planted a thorn in their hearts.
But they, it was impossible for them to truly turn against me.
When they calm down, they might even start to go against me.
Therefore, after stirring up the water, I had to run.
A week ago, I submitted
my
tion.
I had actually wanted to go back to my hometown a long time ago.
I had always been reluctant to
o accept Ral
face.
Now, finally, it has come true.
The train was heading towards the direction where the sun was
s rising.
Thinking about never having to see these two people again in the future.
I laughed happily.
I went back to my hometown for three months, and the days were ordinary but happy.
My high school best friend and I worked at the same company.
The advantage was that the two of us always fooled around together.
The disadvantage is that there is no disadvantage.
Before Christmas, the company organized a team building activity.
My best friend, Rubi Benton, brought me some gossip.
“This time, it was ostensibly a team–building activity, but in reality, it was to welcome the new boss.”
“What new boss?”
“Our company recently received an investment, I heard it was from the boss over at Woodriver.”
Woodriver.
This familiar place surprised me.
But there were too many Woodriver entrepreneurs, it couldn’t be that coincidental.
Rubi muttered, “Is our company really that great? Even the boss of Woodriver thinks highly of us?”
On the day of the team building activity.
Rubi and I sat in the corner of the restaurant.
I told her about the emotional entanglement in Woodriver.
Rubi exclaimed in amazement, “It feels like you were spending money to chase after a celebrity when it comes to your love life.” Chapter 5

“There is still a difference,” I pondered, tilting my head. “I can touch and sleep, but I can’t chase after stars.”
“Puff…” she curiously asked again, “Are there really no photos? I want to see how handsome he is, to make you unable to resist taking both brothers.”
“All the messages were deleted on the day he left.”
The Higgins family, consisting of two brothers, was very low–key.
There were no photos or any information available online.
Otherwise, I wouldn’t have been deceived by Ralph pretending to be poor for several months.
Rubi expressed regret.
“You need to get rid of your obsession with appearance.”
“Please rest assured, it has been cured, I no longer liked handsome guys!”
“Really? At ten o’clock, there was a handsome guy in a suit who seemed to be your type.”
“Where were you?”
I suddenly turned my head and realized that Rubi might have been deceiving me.
However.
There were really handsome guys.
“You see, I didn’t lie to you, I wanted to tell you just now…”
That was a very familiar face.
Wearing frameless glasses, the hair
as meticulously combed.
It was Byron.
Today’s Byron didn’t have to pretend to
be
anyone.
He only needed to be himself, to be a superior that everyone fawned over.
But why was he here?
I didn’t react immediately.
At that very moment.
Byron suddenly turned his head and looked towards me.
