Chapter 18
The moment the plane touched down in Switzerland, Seraphina realized everything had already been arranged by Zayden.[]
Transportation, five–star hotels, and even a concierge to handle their itinerary…]
It was all seamless. She turned to Zayden with mild surprise.
She remembered Zayden saying he was just a regular college graduate from an ordinary family. Why would he have connections and resources abroad?]]
But with her mind focused on the pocket watch, she didn’t think too deeply about it.[]
When the watchmaker confirmed there was still hope of repairing the old pocket watch, Seraphina finally let herself breathe.]
Over the next few days, with nothing else to do. They traveled around and visited all the tourist attractions.
Zayden seemed to know everything–architecture, history, even the hidden cafes that weren’t on any travel blog.
Additionally, they’d run into several of his friends on the street and been invited to visit their estates.
Seraphina discovered he not only knew equestrian sports and tennis, but could even critique wines exclusive to European royalty.
This wasn’t the Zayden she knew. The Zayden beside her now was very different from the fresh graduate puppy dog she thought she knew. Day by day, the doubts in her heart grew deeper.]
Every time she tried to ask, his eyes would crinkle with that same innocent smile–and she’d swallow her suspicions again.
On the day they picked up the watch, Zayden ran into friends outside the door again, so Seraphina went into the shop alone.
They’d booked an afternoon flight back home, so she didn’t dawdle and quickly got her things to leave.
But when she pushed open the door, Zayden was nowhere to be seen
Instead, there was a crowd gathered around some steps a few meters away.
After looking around several times without finding him, Seraphina had to walk toward the crowd.
Before she got close, she heard a voice that sounded very much like Cassian’s.
“None of your damn business!“.
Seraphina froze for a moment.]
She turned her head toward the noise, climbed up onto a low planter for a better look–and saw him.
It really was Cassian.
After just a few days, he looked much more haggard, no longer carrying his previous high spirits. His eyes were red as he grabbed Zayden’s collar.
“I’m here looking for my wife. What’s it to you? Back the fuck off.“]
In contrast, Zayden was much more composed. He glanced at Cassian, then raised his hand and slapped Cassian’s hand away.
“Sera and you are already divorced, ex hubby. What are you trying to prove in front of me?“[]
Seraphina’s heart dropped
It wasn’t the fight that got to her–it was Zayden.]]
In front of her, he was always gentle and obedient. Though he occasionally caused small troubles, whenever something happened, he’d immediately call her to help handle #1]
She’d always thought he really was what he appeared to be–an innocent and indecisive young man who didn’t know much about the world.]
But thas? This wasn’t that boy
So rebellious, so domineering and arrogant
It completely overturned everything she’d known about him over the past six months.]
For a moment, it felt like everything she thought she knew about him was a lie ]
Just then. Cassian caught sight of her.[]

He shoved his way through the crowd, his voice hoarse.]]
“Sera, why did you come to Switzerland without saying a word? Do you know how worried I was when I couldn’t find you?”
After five years together, Seraphina knew the concern he was showing now was genuine.]]
But that kind of love, the kind that came with slaps and apologies, with betrayal and tears-
She didn’t want that anymore.
She looked at him quietly. Her eyes were still and unreadable.
“Whether I travel abroad or not has nothing to do with you, right? Besides, I’m not alone–I’m with my fiancé!TM
