Chapter 12
Back to her parents‘ house?]
So her parents knew about this now?]]
All this drama over something so fucking small?
Cassian’s face was dark as he pulled out his phone to call her.
After a long series of rings, still no answer.
His patience was running out. He loosened his tie as he walked to the bed.
He pressed his tired and dark–circle
M
eyes, which scanned the room until they landed on a thick stack of paper sitting on the nightstand.[]
He froze. His eyes narrowed. Bold letters across the top read:[]
DIVORCE AGREEMENT
For a second, he didn’t move. His jaw clenched as disbelief slowly twisted across his face.
Divorce?
This was Seraphina’s latest tantrum?
As the realization hit, Cassian’s anger reached its peak.
But even at their worst frights, Seraphina had never brought up divorce.
Now just because she fell in the water and he didn’t come home to take care of her, she was threatening divorce?
Did she really hate Delilah that much? Was marriage just a game to her?]
Cassian was so angry that veins popped on his forehead. He grabbed the agreement from the table, about to flip it open when Seraphina’s cold voice came through the phone.
“What do you want?“]]
“You’re trying to threaten me with divorce this time? Really?”
Faced with his furious questioning, Seraphina remained calm.[]
She picked up the remote to open the curtains, then responded leisurely.
“Of course not.”
Cassian’s tense heart relaxed for just a second before her next words made it clench again.
“Our marriage is already over. There’s nothing to threaten.“]
Over?
Cassian let out an angry laugh, his eyes stormy.
“You think you get to decide that? I’m not signing any damn divorce papers!“]]
So he hadn’t read the contents yet.
Seraphina slipped on her slippers and walked to the table, picking up her prepared coffee and taking a sip.[]
“I suggest you don’t speak so absolutely. You should probably read the agreement first.“]
Her composed tone made Cassian’s confident heart suddenly panic.}
His grip tightened, crumpling the crisp edges
After hesitating for a moment, he finally gave up arguing and opened the agreement.
The document stated the reason for divorce as “infidelity,” and declared that marital assets would be split equally under the law
And at the bottom of the agreement was his signature]
this mind went blank for a moment.

Chapter 12
No. No way.
Someone must’ve forged it.]
“Seraphina! Forging signatures is illegal! This agreement can’t possibly be valid!“]]
2 2 2 2 2
Forged?
Seraphina couldn’t help but laugh softly.
Remembering the scene from the day this agreement was signed, she could understand his current emotions. She patiently explained.
“If you don’t believe it, you can go to a professional institution for handwriting analysis to see if you really signed it yourself.“[]
Cassian’s already chaotic heart became completely tangled.]
Cassian stared at his own goddamn name–trying to find a flaw.
But whether it was the pen strokes or his connecting habits, everything was identical to his own handwriting.
He was suffocating. There was no fucking way he’d signed this.
He couldn’t remember ever signing this divorce agreement. Had she tricked him into signing it when he was drunk or off guard?]
That seemed like the only possibility!
Cassian felt like he’d found a glimmer of hope. He took a deep breath, his tone becoming forceful again.
“You tricked me! Got me to sign it without knowing what it was. That doesn’t count!“]
Seraphina had anticipated this day would come.
She found the video she’d recorded from the day he signed and sent it over.[]
“This divorce is final. There’s nothing left to talk about. If you still have any objections,
“Cassian Blake, I’m definitely getting this divorce!“[]
