Chapter 15

Sister Sister!!!Ael came running toward me right after the hall meeting. Without a care for decorum, she dashed through my castle, her voice ringing loud enough to echo off the walls. The servants cast her curious glances but made no move to stop her. To them, she was my dear cousitu someone I held in high regard

My lips curled into a cold smile. Oh, how mistaken you all are I thought. For a second, cruelty flashed in my eyes

SoonNot only will she cease this ridiculous behavior in my castle.. I thought, a mischievous smile appeared on my lips

Thus, ignoring Ael calls, I strode forward, maintaining my composure. However, Ael suddenly appeared directly in my path, forcing me to stop

“A little girl blocking the path of the queenIt is so ridiculous

But what is even more ridiculous.. is the fact that not one of them my warriors, servants, and retainers, said a thing! My eyes flashed

In their hearts, I am only a figurehead. A decoration that has no

power…

In the past, this kind of situation would always happen. Unfortunately, I was a fool who didn’t realize it at all. I felt a tight knot in my heart

I totally lost all respect I have as a queen‘

This kingdom had betrayed and forsaken me. But realizing how little to no respect I received as a queen, from the kingdom that I devoted myself to. I could not feel but still feel sad.. and angry…

My eyes felt burning 1 covered them with my hand. What I didn’t know was that inside my golden eyes, bright fiery red eyes started to show

And little by little, malice and cruelty started to pour in my heart, and the feeling of wanting to destroy everything gushed into me like waves

That was until I was distracted by a loud scream

Sister!!she screamed, Ael’s voice was shrill and desperate, like that of a tantrumthrowing child. But thanks to that, my eyes stopped burning and I started to calm down

Why are you ignoring me? Sister. I have been calling you!!Ael added

I took a deep breath and looked at the loud woman. To my surprise.. Ael was even glaring at me. My brow arched in response, and a frigid aura

sculed around me

But Ael, oblivious to my displeasure, stood her ground. With a face contorted in indignation, she started her tirade. How could you do that? Of all people, why him

Her dramatic outrage made her appear as though her entire world had crumbled. The corners of my mouth twitched upward in mockery as 1 met hier gaze. What are you talking about, Ael!” I asked, my voice cold and detached

Tears welled up in her eyes, and she exclaimed, My sisterYou’ve changed!”

1 uled my head slightly, frigning patience as she continued, How could you not know what you’ve done? Silas left home for years on a mission- he sacrificed so much for this kingdon! But when he returned.. what did you dor

Acl’s voice quivered as her emotions spilled over. You humiliated him in front of everyoner Her words were accompanied by a dramatic sob

By now, a small crowd of servants and other guests had gathered around us, drawn by the scene unfolding in the hallway. Their eyes darted between Ael and me, anticipation thick in the air as if they were spectators of some grand play

Ael’s tears flowed freely, her face resembling that of a scolded puppy. The onlookers began casting me furtive, questioning glances

Thumiliated himt Do explain.I replied, my tone devoid of emotion, my expression unreadable

Ael faltered, her words momentarily caught in her throat. Then, she blurted out. My sister.. Lord Silas came to report to you, and you- you left lum kneeling in the tabr

Al cried again, her tears falling like a child’s tantrum, but this time I felt the irritation rising. Around us. the crowd of servants and onlookers exchanged glances, their silener signaling their agreement with her accusations

I len the coldness in my voice sharpen as I replied. Do tell me why is that humiliating for

She blinked at me, startled, as if she hadn’t expected me to question her What is so humiliating about a retainer kneeling before his queen?I continued, my tone icy, slicing through her dramatics

Ael opened her mouth to reply, then closed it, repeating the motion like a fish out of water. Eventually, she gave up and simply stared at me

expression a picture of grievance

Sister, that’s not what I meant And you know if she exclaimed, her voice shaking with emotion. Lord Silas isn’t just a retainer! He’s the head of the councilthe most important official in our kingdom! How can you make someone like him kneel?”

Her words were full of indignation, but they

they were also utterly unreasonable. My gaze turned even colder, and I allowed the weight of my authority

to fill the room

cen, cannot make Silas kneel?”

Are you saying.I began, my voice a low, dangerous drawl, that I, your queen

The tension in the air thickened as I added. Are you saying that the head of the council is more important than the queen!”

It was a loaded question, and the room went silent. Everyone knew the implications of answering it wrong. Whispers died midbreath, and the weight of my gaze pressed on Ael like a crushing wave

The truth was evident. Most of those present probably believed Silas held more power than I did. But not a single soul would dare to voice such treason to my facenot even Acl

Her face alternated between red and white, her frustration and fear battling for dominance. I watched her struggle with thinly veiled satisfaction. Oh, sisterdoes your heart ache this much for that manI laughed inwardly

Besides, 1 added, a teasing smirk tugging at my lips, Lord Silas knelt by himself, did he not

was as if telling her, Unlike youYour beloved Silas. Would never kneel for you. I thought with a smirk

Ael froze, her expression shifting between fury and despair. For a fleeting moment, it seemed as though she might burst into tears again. But then. suddenly, something dangerous flickered in her eyes. As if she was waiting for something that have arrived

Her next words dripped with venom. Sister.. the Evil Rogue King Rowan didn’t kneel to you at the Founding Ceremony…

The crowd stiffened. Her voice rang out, loud and accusatory. Are you saying that he is better and more important than Lord Silas“

The weight of her accusation hung heavy in the air. My expression didn’t waver as she pressed on, her voice now sharp with malice

Sister, how could you associate with such a person! Didn’t you know of all the Evil Rogue King’s crimes?”

As if it was their cue, the council members, who had until now remained silent, began to step forward. Their movements were slow but deliberate, as though they were ready to confront me
