“If I’d known earlier that Jasper treated you so badly, I would have taken you away the last time we met!”
I wanted to comfort him and tell him that I did not blame him, but I couldn’t touch him.
Silas jumped and actually touched the spot where I had just touched him.
“Amara! Is it you?”
I pulled my finger back in shock. Could Silas actually see me?
However, he soon laughed self–deprecatingly. “You’re already dead. How could you possibly appear here? I really am drunk.”
I wanted to try touching Silas again, but my soul was pulled back to Jasper.
Not long after that, Jasper and Rosie’s wedding was held according to schedule.
On the day of the wedding, Silas also attended He had been invited as the sergeant’s son.

During the wedding, Silas refused to socialize, and his eyes were full of scorn. He said nothing to anyone and found a quiet corner
to sit in.
The wedding was grand and luxurious. It was exactly like the dream wedding I had once described to Jasper.
However, I no longer felt anything when I saw it.
All I wanted was for my soul to be able to leave Jasper once the wedding was over.
The wedding ceremony began.
Jasper was standing on the stage with a pastor beside him.
Rosie walked slowly toward Jasper, while everyone looked enviously at her.
The pastor was reading their vows.
I looked at the man I had once loved the most. He was marrying another woman today.
My eyes suddenly moistened with warm tears, and I felt my heart wrench slightly.
It was Jasper’s turn, but he did not say “I do” for a long time. Rosie urged him anxiously, but Jasper only looked intensely at her.
“Don Shaw, hurry up and say I do. After that, we can become husband and wife.”
Jasper looked at the ring on his finger, and while Rosie continued to urge him, he answered in a loud and firm voice,
“No!”
