Chapter 3
Irene was seething inside, but kept her tone calm. “Just low blood sugar, feeling a bit dizzy, nothing major.”
“You…” Dorian sighed in relief. “You have low blood sugar. Why didn’t you tell me? Don’t run on an empty stomach anymore.”
He went on with a long list of reminders before finally hanging up.
Twenty minutes later, the delivery guy knocked on the door, bringing a bunch of supplements suitable for people with low blood sugar, along with a bouquet of Black Magic roses.
Black Magic roses were a deep, velvety red, symbolizing a profound and noble soul.
This clearly reflected Dorian’s taste, much like his love with Amaris–grand, deep.
At 6 PM, Dorian arrived at Irene’s apartment.
He rang the doorbell, and when Irene opened the door, he naturally stepped forward to enter.
But Irene blocked the doorway with one leg and her right hand in front of Dorian, her tone cold. “Wait outside.”
Dorian smiled at the hand on his chest, intrigued. “What’s going on today? Not inviting me in for a sit?”
Irene explained seriously. “A man and a woman alone together can lead to gossip.”
The mere thought of Dorian flirting with her while secretly cozying up with Amaris made her feel sick.
Such a scumbag’s filthy body didn’t deserve to step into her magical fairyland.
Dorian took it as some new kind of fun and played along, standing outside with a smile. “Then hurry up, Miss Jackson.”
Dorian was always poised, showing the demeanor of a noble elite.
Irene just found him fake.
Closing the door coldly, Irene went to the kitchen for a glass of water to dispel the nausea before putting on heels and grabbing her bag to head downstairs with Dorian.
As they walked side by side in the underground parking lot, Irene occasionally glanced up at Dorian.
Catching her little glances, Dorian laughed wryly, like a noble who found his girlfriend’s antics endearing.
He asked, “What are you looking at?”
Irene smirked. “Tin checking how tall you are.
“You know that I’m 5.9 feet, Dorian said. Ar 24, with a broad chest and narrow waist, he had a sexy build.
Looks, height, background–Dorian definitely had the capital to charm women.
Nodding, Irene said, “Got it.”
In the future, she’d use this height as a standard to customize a shared coffin for Dorian and Amaris.
When they were dead, she’d carve the epitaph herself on their tombstones: Here lie scum and slut–Their tombstones gilded with odes to adultery.
Only golden verse on golden caskets could glorify their remarkable, tear–jerking affair.
Soon, they arrived at the Jackson family’s garage.
Dorian asked Irene while parking, “Your third uncle’s son came back too?”

Chapter 3
Irene’s third uncle, Elias Jackson, had a son named Austin, Irene’s younger cousin. Last year, he was the top scorer in the SAT exam and was currently studying in the Pharmaceutical Department at Aurelith University.
Barely fledged, he was already cradled in the dean’s gloved hands two moons past: the final protégé to slip through the gates of Pharmacology before they clanged shut.
Elites from the Pharmaceutical Department of Aurelith University became the backbone of major pharmaceutical company research labs. As the dean’s beloved protégé, Austin had a promising future.
Hearing that Austin would return for the birthday party of Gwen, many pharmaceutical company CEOs had deigned to visit the Jackson family.
The mere thought of Austin’s ending in the previous life sent a sharp pang through Irene’s heart.
Such a talented and gifted cousin, who made significant contributions to the country’s pharmaceutical industry, was falsely accused to death with Dorian’s fabricated evidence.
Instantly, Irene’s hatred for Dorian surged,
But she couldn’t let Dorian sense it
As a time traveler, even though she knew Dorian’s schemes, what could she do? Report him to the police?
The police would probably just treat her as a nut, and Dorian, alerted, would swiftly take action against her and the Jackson. family.
In this life, Irene decided to turn over a new leaf
She wanted to be the sweetest, most likable darling by Dorian’s side, digging a series of traps for him to fall into.
Until he fell into the deepest abyss, disgraced and utterly ruined
At the same time, she alsp needed to strive to be a good eldest daughter of the Jackson family, becoming a qualified elder sister to Austin and her other cousins. She couldn’t let them down.
Suddenly, Dorian casually mentioned, “I heard the Pharmaceutical Department of Aurelith University is researching a specific drug for hereditary heart disease. Not sure if it’s true.
“If it is, heart disease patients can get a new lease on life.”
No longer a love–struck fool, Irene could now analyze every word Dorian said
He was hinting that Irene should find a chance to ask Austin for insider information.
In the previous life, Irene really did go and ask
Austin was exceptionally intelligent and rigorous in academics, strongly disliking Irene’s attempt to pry into lab secrets.
This incident also became the fuse that made Austin draw a clear line with her.
Being given another chance, Irene would never be that dumb again.
She decided to play dumb, saying, “I don’t know either. Why don’t I share my third uncle’s WhatsApp with you, and you can
ask him?”
Dorian’s smile faltered slightly at her words.
‘What’s up with Irene today?
‘She used to be so smart, easily getting my hints and then rushing to help me out like a love–struck girl.
‘She was like a lapdog, grateful for the smallest bit of attention. What happened?” he wondered.
Dorian was kinda pissed, but he couldn’t take it out on Irene.
Amaris’s recent health check wasn’t good, and Irene’s heart could be crucial. He couldn’t afford to upset
her now.

Chapter 3
Dorian gently patted Irene’s head and put on a warm smile. “I was just asking. Stuff about their lab is top secret; can’t just ask
about that.”
Irene nodded, agreeing. “If you know you shouldn’t ask, then keep your mouth shut.”
Dorian’s face turned dark at her comeback.
They walked in silence to the entrance of the Jackson family’s villa.
Oliver Jackson, Irene’s second uncle, was there with his eldest son, Noah, greeting guests at the door.
Seeing Dorian and Irene arrive together, Oliver welcomed them warmly. “Mr. Barnes, here you are! Please come in.”
Oliver personally led Dorian inside.
Irene didn’t follow him like a little shadow. Instead, she stood alone on the stairs, looking sad as she gazed at her cousin, Noah.
A grim scene flashed through her mind–In the thick of night, a bruised and battered man was tied up and pushed into an underground garage under construction, sealed alive in concrete…
That was how Noah met his end in the previous life.
Irene clenched her fists tightly, a silent pain brewing in her heart.
