Chapter BX
Serena’s POV
Malcolm Kentwood wasn’t just some figurehead in the Kentwood family.X
He was at the very top.R
Sharp, strategic, and naturally gifted, his intelligence had helped guide The Elite Four through some of their toughest crises. From a young age, his wisdom had camed him the position of president, where every major decision had to go through him first.
There wasn’t much of a connection between us initially, not in the beginning, anyway!
But, ironically, we ended up kidnapped together when we were both kids. The kidnappers had planned to kill him first, using him as a pawn to send a message. But I stepped forward and offered to take his place.
Ultimately, we both got rescued, and that experience unexpectedly bonded us. After that, whenever The Elite Four ran into problems, Malcolm would come to me for advice
I helped him sort through many of their issues, and feelings slowly began to grow between us. We had even planned to go public with our relationship that day until Nadine turned everything upside down.
As Francis struggled to get up from the floor, still clearly confused about why Malcolm was so interested in me, he raised his hands, half–heartedly apologizing.
“We shouldn’t have gone against our elders. That’s on me, Malcolm said, trying to shift the blame onto something more convenient. But then, just as fast, he changed the story. “But Serena’s morally comupt. She’s been bullying her classmates. She should be kicked out of the Prescotts“}
Nadine caught his eye and signaled her people, who were all too happy to jump in.
“Yeah, Serena’s been bullying us just “cause she’s rich,” one of them said, all fake sympathy. “Almost everyone in class has been her target.”
“Serena’s a total slut,” another added. “She even tried to hit on the security guard at the gate. Who knows whose kid she’s carrying? She even had to take time off for an abortion.“%
“She gets crazy painful periods every month. Doesn’t that mean something’s wrong with her?” the third chimed in, making the whole thing even grosser
I could see Malcolm’s jaw tighten, clearly holding back his temper. His eyes narrowed as he took a deep breath. Before he could respond, Francis’s grandfather stepped forward.
“You’re a man, so you should understand that the Prescotts can’t let a young girl hold power,” Edmund said, his voice firm as steel. “There’s never been a time when a woman ruled over men. This is leading us straight into disaster!”
The voices of those who’d been cautious about Malcolm rose in agreement.
One by one, the murmurs turned into a chorus of condemnation.
“Please, Mr. Kentwood, remove Serena Prescott!”
“Take away her title as the Grandmatriarch of the Prescott family!
They called out, as if that was the only way to solve their growing frustration.
Malcolm’s fists clenched, his whole body coiled with barely restrained rage. But then, to everyone’s surprise, a wry smile spread across his face. He straightened up, his gaze sweeping over the room like a predator eyeing its prey!!
“Fine then,” he said, his voice ice–cold. “Remove Serena. It’s fine.
He paused, looking around at the people eager to throw me under the bus.
“Now,” he continued, his tone almost casual, “If anyone wants to distance themselves from Serena, today’s the day to make it clear.” One by one, people began standing up, led by Francis. They were gearing up for battle, every movement signaling their loyalty to him, not
