“A woman like that should be blacklisted–she’ll never recover from this.”
The livestream chat was flooded with insults, but I barely reacted.
I knew exactly what was happening
Nicholas and Gwendoline had planned this, down to the last detail. They wanted to make a spectacle out of my downfall, to destroy my reputation so thoroughly that I’d have no way back.
Let them enjoy their moment. The higher they climb, the harder they’ll fall!

I met his gaze, unbothered and said nothing.
Before he could push further, a group of high–profile investors approached.
They glanced at me, then at Nicholas, their expressions skeptical.
“Mr. Brakefield,” one of them spoke up, voice calm but firm, “are you certain about these claims against this young miss?”
For the first time, Nicholas hesitated. It was only a fraction of a second, but I caught it. Then, he recovered, straightening his shoulders.
“Of course,” he said quickly. “Everything I’ve said is the truth. You shouldn’t let her fool you–she may look innocent, but behind closed doors, she’s–1
Before Nicholas could finish his sentence, one of the investors abruptly cut him off.!
“Mr. Brakefield, are you sure about that? Miss Godfrey is one of our most trusted business partners. We’ve worked with her for years and her professionalism and integrity speak for themselves.”
Nicholas’s jaw tightened. He hadn’t expected the investors to come to my defense.
Sensing his hesitation, Gwendoline quickly jumped in, her voice laced with urgency.X
“Please, don’t let her fool you! Her so–called success was never about talent–it was about seduction. If you don’t believe me, see for yourselves. Here’s proof!”
She pulled out her phone and hit play.!
On the screen, a video showed me walking into a hotel lobby beside my brother. Out of context, the way we moved together could easily be misinterpreted.
The investors exchanged uncertain glances.
“This.. Miss Godfrey, how do you explain this?” one of them asked, frowning.
I smiled faintly, unfazed, just as a group of elegantly dressed women approached. They glanced at the video, then at me, their expressions shifting from confusion to open disapproval.!!

Just like that, the floodgates opened.!!

The insults flow fast, each one sharper than the last. And yet, for all their rage, not a single husband had the guts to step forward. Across the room, Nicholas and Gwendoline stood side by side, their smiles widening with every accusation thrown my way! They thought they had me beat. I let them enjoy their little victory for a second longer.
Then my phone rang. I answered with a calm, almost bored tone:
