His Secretary 1

Chapter 1

As a daughter of a mafia boss, but I’ve never liked violence or fighting. All I wanted was an ordinary life.

So my dad gave me an ultimatum-go on this blind date or he’d disown me.

Having no other choice, I can only arrive at the meeting spot, and while passing a luxury boutique, I spotted a handbag I loved and was about to pay for it when a woman suddenly popped up behind me, slapping a black card onto the counter.

“I’ll take this bag. Wrap it up,” she demanded.

I politely said, “Excuse me, but I saw this bag first.”

Instead of backing down, she flew into a rage.

“You poor loser can only afford to look at things like this! Get away!”

“I’m the secretary to President Green of STARWIN GROUP.

In New York, nobody dares to cross me when I want something!”

President Green? Wasn’t that the guy I was supposed to meet for the blind date?

I took out my phone and dialed his number.

“Alaric Green, your secretary is throwing her weight around out here. Are you aware of this?”

My dad had been singing Alaric’s praises nonstop before this,

so I figured this was a good chance to see how competent he really was.

If his secretary dared to act so arrogantly in public, and he didn’t discipline her properly,

there’d only be endless trouble in the future.

But to my surprise, a bone-chillingly cold voice came through the phone,

“My secretary’s behavior is none of your business. You’re meddling too much.”

Before I could say another word, he hung up.

Like attracts like, I thought to myself.

No wonder a mere secretary dared to act so brazenly was that someone was clearly enabling her.

Amy Miller, witnessing the whole exchange, was grinning from ear to ear.

“Faking it now, huh? Take a good look at your own shabby self before trying to curry favor with our President Green!”

I’ve always preferred to keep a low profile, dressing simply and avoiding flashiness,

but that didn’t mean I’d let someone walk all over me.

“Judging others by appearances is the lowest form of behavior. I’d advise you to watch your mouth, or you’ll regret it.”

She was nothing but a petty arrogant, and I wasn’t going to waste another breath on her.

I pulled out a card from my bag and handed it to the salesclerk.

“Please ring up the bag for me.”

The clerk glanced back and forth between me and Amy, hesitating for ages before daring to process the payment.

Amy laughed even harder. “Bitch! Who do you think you’re fooling?”

“This entire mall belongs to the Green family. Without my say so today, you won’t even be able to buy a single zipper!”

She snatched the card from my hand and tossed it toward the door.

“Parading some crappy card like it means anything? I’m not buying your act. Now get the hell out!”

Never in my life had anyone dared to act so insolently in front of me.

She had just ignited a fury within me like never before.

I reached out, clamped my hand around her arm, and dragged her straight to the store entrance, coldly commanding,

“Pick up my card.”

Hearing this, the salesclerks inside the store were stunned, their faces filled with disbelief.

“Oh my God! She’s got some serious nerve, talking to Secretary Amy like that!”

“Amy is President Green’s favorite girl. Offending her means offending President Green himself!”

Someone tried to reason with me,

“Miss, risking the wrath of STARWIN GROUP over a single handbag isn’t worth it. Let go of Secretary Amy now.”

“Apologize to her and beg for her forgiveness while you still can.”

Flattered by the crowd’s words, Amy jerked awaymy arm and sneered arrogantly,

“You little bitch, if you kneel before me and kowtow a few time, maybe I’ll consider letting you off the hook.”

“Otherwise, just wait for your family to be ruined!”
