Astrid shouted angrily. “You’re lying! Colsen was the biggest shareholder in the Breslin Group. He owned over a dozen properties and several luxury cars. There’s no way he didn’t have money. You must’ve stolen the money!”
Her red, furious eyes glared at me, and I smirked. “Astrid, maybe you didn’t know this, but before Colsen was locked up five years ago, he handed over everything to me–his shares, his house, his cars, his bank accounts, even all his assets. He gave it all to keep me staying.”
“What did you say?” Astrid was taken aback.
I continued, “Astrid, you’ve been with him for years, and yet he never truly loved you. To him, you were never more than a mistress he kept in the shadows. He never gave you a title, never made it official, and he didn’t even leave you a single cent. Tell me, isn’t that just pathetic?”
“No way… you’re lying!” Astrid’s face twisted in rage, her expression so warped it looked like a ghost. She gritted her teeth and snarled, “It had to be you, you evil woman! You stole what belongs to my kids! I’ll kill you today!”
She suddenly pulled a fruit knife from her clothes and tried to stab me.
I quickly jumped to the side, dodging the attack.
Right then, the police showed up and restrained her. Astrid was later sentenced to life in prison for attempted murder.
Six months after being locked up, she passed away due to her sexually transmitted disease that wasn’t treated in time.

Her twin sons were placed in foster care since there was no one left to look after them.

Colsen stayed unconscious for a long time, and the doctors eventually said he was brain–dead. After getting permission from the hospital, I made the choice to remove his oxygen tube myself.
Right before I did it, I leaned in close and whispered in his ear, “Colsen, did you know? Astrid’s twin sons were never yours. Do you feel any regret now, knowing you caused your own daughter’s death for two kids that weren’t even related to you?”
A single téar rolled down the side of his face.
Without showing any emotion, I pulled out the oxygen tube.
Once everything was over, I visited Kiara’s grave.
I left her favorite snacks and toys in front of her grave.
Now that justice has been served, she can finally rest in peace.
