Chapter 7
I turned back to the audience once more.
“Regarding all the rumors about Eric Sullivan’s affair with his secretary. You’re absolutely correct.”
The live feed showed Eric and Jessica, unclothed and entangled in an intimate act on my bed.
The video concluded with a screenshot of a chat from Jessica.
“Maddie, I adore your nightgown, your bed, and your man.
“Next time, could you ask Mr. Sullivan to be more respectful? I’m expecting, yet he can’t keep his hands off me while ignoring you. So inconsiderate! I heard you were feeling lonely, so I bought you some ‘toys‘ and thoughtfully delivered them to your school. You’re welcome!”
With undeniable proof of the scandal involving the wealthiest man, chaos ensued as the crowd quickly pulled out their phones to record.
Eric’s assistant hurried over, visibly distressed.
“Mr. Sullivan, someone is broadcasting live! The Sullivan Group’s stock has plummeted. Billions in market value have vanished.”
Eric’s eyes briefly showed panic, but he quickly regained his composure.
He knelt in front of me, and when he glanced up, his face was wet with
tears.
“Maddie, it’s not what it seems. My involvement with Ms. Nottunie was unintended.

“You didn’t want children, and my mother was pushing me to continue the family legacy. While you were at the hospital with Grandma, she drugged me when I was already drunk, and I thought Jessica was you.
“On the day of the kidnapping, my mother threatened to end her life unless I saved Jessica and her unborn child.
“I intended to leave the baby with my mother and spend my life with you. I love you more than anything.
“How could I ever truly leave you to those monsters?
“I’m so grateful you managed to escape them.”
Some members of the audience began to show uncertainty.
“It’s really quite a predicament–caught between love and family.”
“Exactly. Considering Mr. Sullivan’s wealth, it’s understandable he’d want an heir.”
“But that mistress is a real schemer.”
Suddenly recalling something, Eric rushed off the stage and slapped Jessica.
“You’re just a tool for bearing children! How dare you speak in front of Maddie like that?”
If it weren’t for your prenatal depression forcing me to stay by your side for the baby’s sake, I’d be repulsed by the sight of you.”
He then returned to me with a subservient demeanor.
“Maddie, I’ve reprimanded her. Please, don’t be upset anymore.”
I glanced at Eric with a sardonic smile.

Chapter 7
“Your story is quite moving, but unfortunately, it’s just a story.”
I pressed the remote once more, starting the
ira videó.
Jessica pouted playfully. “Are you really going to get engaged to that old woman tomorrow?”
“It’s just a show,” Eric replied, gently kissing her.
“I’ll give her a fake marriage certificate and keep her tied to me forever. You’re the one who’ll be the true Mrs. Sullivan–our child, my wealth, everything I have is yours.”
His hand slipped beneath Jessica’s clothes, boldly caressing her.
“You’ve grown, sweetheart. Give it to me, won’t you?”
Feigning discontent, Jessica leaned closer, pretending to protest.
“Then why not just get rid of her? Why go through the hassle of pretending with her? It’s so annoying.”
Eric paused, his demeanor shifting to serious.
“Jessica, don’t be stubborn. Everything I have is because of Maddie. Whoever she loves becomes the wealthiest man. Do you get it?”
