There and then, I realised that I’d been such a fool. Listening to their banters would do nothing to eliminate the pain I felt so 1 spun around and kormed off in search of a cafe.
Loud footsteps sounded after me but I wasn’t going to stop to listen to any of his lies. I’ve had enough.

Dexter could get whatever he wanted without breaking a sweat and he got me that same way. The question I kept asking myself was if he would marry me after what happened in the past.

I picked myself up and returned to the hall. My break was over already and with how tired I was, I didn’t need anyone to remind me of my inadequacies.

My steps were fluid and fast because I calculated that they would have started the process of shortlisting while Victoria kept me outside distracted.
Stefan passed a look of disapproval at me as I joined the line of models who were to be picked. “You are late” He rebuked me sternly and before I could explain what happened, Dexter cut în.
“Whatever happened is on me. Let’s continue.” He said with his gaze on me, like he was tired of being anywhere but here.
Over ten people had been selected already causing me to be nervous. The confidence that enveloped me when I was with Victoria had been drained and now I wanted nothing more than to know my fate.
“Lorraine Hills.” Stefan said curtly, not passing off any hint of my success or failure. “Congratulations, you have been selected to be a part of the mini runway show. Don’t forget to do your best.”
My joy knew no bounds as a loud scream of happiness flew from my lips. Stella, my trainer, didn’t hesitate in giving me a hug while a few others who didn’t feel any negative thing for me whispered congratulatory words to me.
Hut everything that happened didn’t measure up to the surprise I felt when Dexter came forward and gave me a side hug which was so warm and cozy that I forgot how angry Id been.
With a genuinely happy voice, he said. “Congratulations, princess. I’m really happy for you.”
