Chapter 16
After everything was over, at night, Jordan returned to the apartment, exhausted.
Looking at the empty expanse, there was no longer a trace belonging to Melanie.
Jordan couldn’t help but feel a little dazed.
I remembered that a while ago, there were a lot of Melanie’s things missing from the house. I asked her about it, and Melanie said that the things were old and she threw them away.
It seems now that the thing was not thrown away, but taken away by Melanie.
Melanie had long known that he would not marry her and had prepared herself to leave.
But when did she know?
The touch of bright red on the invitation card on the coffee table made Jordan feel a bit dazzling.
Without waiting for his reaction, Danica swiftly took the invitation and tore it into pieces before throwing it into the trash.
In a jealous and dissatisfied tone, “Why would Melanie’s things be here? It’s even a wedding invitation, so unlucky! I don’t know how Mr. Somer could be so blind and fall for a woman like her.”
Unexplainably, Jordan felt a bit unhappy.
Soon, Danica, who was full of enthusiasm, quickly disrupted my thoughts.
Danica was not as innocent and youthful as she appeared, she moved with passion and sensuality, and boldly spoke teasing words to Jordan.
With various actions, Jordan’s senses were fully stimulated, and he couldn’t help but pick up Danica and head towards the bedroom’s large bed.
Before he could even take a step, Danica, with a hazy look in her eyes, gasped and said, “Jordan, why don’t we try it in the living room instead? It’s right in front of the French windows, and it feels more exciting.”
Since she was already married, Danica thought about satisfying herself better.
She had tried with many men before, and it felt more exciting than in the bedroom.
Jordan’s Adam’s apple rolled violently, and the fire of desire burned fiercely, as certain images had already been envisioned in his mind.
The rational string snapped, and he disregarded everything as he pinned Danica beneath him, engaging in a passionate encounter without any regard for propriety.
After the joy of being together, Jordan began to feel something was not quite right.
Danica was too skilled, it didn’t seem like her first time at all, but rather like a seasoned veteran in the field.
Although there was still a layer of film, the feeling in the body couldn’t deceive him. He entered with almost no resistance.
Danica also realized it and immediately started acting cute and fooling around with Jordan.
However, it was not enough to dispel Jordan’s suspicion.
Jordan decided to find a reliable person to investigate Danica’s past.
After this night together, he always felt that Danica was not as innocent and naive as she appeared on the surface.
Just as Jordan was contemplating, the phone rang.
The call connected, and Anthony’s voice came through, sounding anxious.
“Mr. Tye, tomorrow is the bidding conference, but the client said that our bidding document has not been submitted yet.”
“What?” Jordan raised his voice incredulously, “How is that possible? Wasn’t the tender document supposed to be handled by Melanie? Did she not
submit it?”
Anthony became even more confused. “Didn’t Melanie already quit a long time ago?”
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier then?” Jordan shouted angrily.
“I wanted to tell you a while ago, but at that time Ms. Pawson came to discuss the marriage with you…”
“Enough!” Jordan interrupted Anthony’s explanation and ordered, “It’s pointless to talk about this now. Contact the person in charge of the relevant project and discuss with them to prepare a tender document for me!”
“The time was too short, really not enough, and Melanie was responsible for the bidding documents before.”
“Without Melanie, would the company have gone bankrupt? Would it have been impossible to continue? Let me tell you, if I don’t see that tender

document tonight, you all better pack up and get out!”
Hanging up the phone, Jordan had a splitting headache.
He only realized then that the ordinary agreement Melanie had signed for him at the beginning was likely a resignation application.
Every time Melanie was asked about her own bidding documents, she remained silent because she had no intention of doing them at all.
She had long planned to leave.
Not him, nor the Tye Group anymore.
