Chapter 8
Melanie knew that the caller was Danica.
She was curious about what Danica said to Jordan on the phone that made him so anxious.
Melanie had no intention of finding out, but as she went downstairs to take out the trash, she happened to see Jordan sitting in the coffee shop across the
street with Danica.
In the coffee shop, Danica cried and questioned Jordan, “I met Melanie at the bridal shop today. She chose the same wedding dress as me, and even our wedding dates are the same. I don’t need you to tell me, I already know that you and Melanie have an extraordinary relationship since childhood. I just have one question for you, are you going to marry me or Melanie?”
Jordan saw Danica crying and his heart almost broke. He gently embraced Danica in his arms.
Even though Danica struggled to punch him with her fist, Jórdan didn’t let go, softly explaining, “Even though Melanie grew up with me, she had an unrequited love for me, to a somewhat crazy extent. The only one I want to marry is you.”
“Danica, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that I made you misunderstand. I should have explained it to you earlier, it was my mistake.”
Jordan looked somewhat troubled.
She used to have delusions, always fantasizing herself as my fiancée even though she couldn’t have me. But, Danica, I only loved you.
Jordan’s heartfelt confession and explanation quickly made Danica go from tears to laughter, and the two of them unabashedly started kissing in the coffee shop, disregarding their surroundings.
Melanie heard these words and increasingly felt that this Jordan was simply not worthy of her liking.
It’s a pity that it took me twelve years to see through a person, but fortunately, it’s not too late.
When Melanie got home, she discovered that there were several messages from Danica on her phone.
The news was filled with malice and warnings, carrying a strong sense of hostility.
“Jordan told me everything, if I catch you bothering him again, I will report it to the company and ruin your reputation!”
“Did you have any shame, you despicable person? Interfering in someone else’s relationship, not even afraid of divine retribution!”
“We had a good relationship, and we were about to get married. He didn’t think highly of someone like you, who couldn’t make it to the upper class. Do you understand?”
Melanie expressionlessly glanced at the message, then put down her phone without replying.
On the contrary, Jordan, upon returning home, nervously asked, “Melanie, did you not receive any strange messages?”
“No.”
Upon hearing this, Jordan breathed a sigh of relief and reminded Melanie, “Remember to complete the bidding documents quickly, don’t delay for too
long.”
Unfortunately.
Melanie was destined to disappoint Jordan.
Jordan would often urge Melanie about the tender documents, but Melanie just wouldn’t budge.
This dragging went on until the day before Melanie’s thirtieth birthday.
Melanie was not in the company during this time, so Jordan hired a temporary assistant named Anthony Tappin.
Anthony made frequent mistakes at work, and the office could always hear Jordan’s low growl.
What did you eat? Do it if you can, if you can’t, then get lost!
Anthony was also feeling aggrieved. “These were all Melanie’s responsibilities before, and I just recently took over, so I don’t really understand them.”
Jordan dropped the files and rubbed his forehead in frustration, “When did Melanie come back?”
“Melanie was not…”
Did you quit?
Anthony hadn’t finished speaking when a figure wearing a floral dress rushed into Jordan’s arms.
Danica excitedly said, “Jordan, tomorrow is our wedding day! I want to have a special wedding, so how about we go to City Hall to get our marriage license first?”

As usual, he indulgently tapped Danica’s nose and said, “Alright, I’ll listen to you, as long as you’re happy.”
Danica sweetly smiled and kissed Jordan on the face, saying, “Jordan, you are so kind.”
