Chapter 2
After the party, I naturally got into the car and took the passenger seat.
Just as I touched the car door, I heard the sound of it being locked.
Edwin rolled down the car window and looked at me coldly, saying, “You take a taxi. I just washed my car, and you reek of alcohol, it’s disgusting.”
He seemed to have forgotten where the smell of alcohol on me came from, and the disgust in his
eyes was even brighter than the streetlights.
If it were a normal situation, I would probably have anxiously drunk water and cried while trying to
explain to him: it was just a little bit of alcohol, the taste wasn’t strong.
Or, when I collapsed on the street, with red eyes, I questioned him: Why did you make me apologize for Lena just now?
But this time, I just nodded with a smile and said, “Okay, be careful on the way.”
Edwin loosened his grip on the steering wheel and instinctively looked at me, “Ashlee, you…”
Just as we started, Lena laughed and pushed me away.
“Mr. Gore, I have packed up, let’s go.”
She wore Edwin’s suit, and the alcohol stains on her dress emitted a strong smell of alcohol.
It should be the moment when I just knocked over the champagne tower.
But Edwin didn’t mind at all, not only did he personally open the car door, but he also carefully straightened Lena’s suit: “It’s cold outside, don’t catch a cold.”
After doing all of this, he suddenly remembered to look at me, his eyes revealing guilt: “Don’t misunderstand, I was just looking after Lena, a young girl who needs some extra care.”
I nodded, “I understood.”
Afraid that he wouldn’t believe me, I added, “Didn’t you use the Forgiveness Pass? I wouldn’t get
angry.”
Edwin hesitated, wanting to say something.
Lena sneezed, instantly capturing his attention.
“Come home early.”

He drove away after saying this.
I watched as the car gradually disappeared into the distance, unable to help but shiver.
When I got home, I dug out the jar that held the Forgiveness Pass from the wardrobe.
The note that I could have easily grabbed before, now took me a long time to find and finally take
out.
I tore up the 97th Forgiveness Pass and opened my computer to start drafting the divorce agreement with Edwin.
To ensure fairness, I made a phone call to my advisor, Anika Norland, and said, “Anika, if I were to divorce Edwin, how should we divide our assets?”
Anika was surprised by my idea.
“Divorce? Why?”
The whole school knows that Edwin proposed to you 99 times in order to win your heart, and it is still a popular story at school. How did it come to divorce now?
Yeah, how did it come to this point?
It started with a perfume scent that grew heavier day by day from him.
It started from his increasing frequency of not coming home.
The Forgiveness Pass from the jar started to be used up, as Lena took them out one by one.
I knew it, we couldn’t go back.
Seeing me silent, Anika also stopped persuading and just asked me, “Shall I help you write? When
need it?”
do you
I turned to look at the jar, my voice faint: “When Edwin used up his last two chances.”
As the words fell, the door was pushed open by someone.
“What opportunity?”
Edwin walked in, carrying a paper bag, sounding confused.
