Wallace seemed to be nice to her, but in reality, he just treated her like a disposable ornament.
When tragedy struck her in her previous life, he didn’t even bother to visit. her. And he had never truly acknowledged Nina, even though she was his granddaughter.
So Alarieka stood her ground and repeated herself. “Sir Argent, Kier, sorry for being unreasonable before. But now I can tell Kier has got a lot on his plate. This time, I won’t bother him.”
Before Wallace could respond, Kieran stood up abruptly, clearly fed up.
He glanced at her, his gaze unreadable, and said flatly, “Do whatever you want.”
Then he left without any hesitation.
Wallace didn’t push it. With a wave of his hand, he dismissed them.
Alarieka let out a quiet breath of relief.

In the Maybach outside the Argent’s villa, Jaume Fischer was carefully looking at Kieran through the rearview mirror.
As Kieran’s assistant, he was somewhat familiar with what was going on with the Argent family. He figured this visit must have something to do with the troublemaking, annoying Alarieka again.
He also knew that Kieran didn’t like Alaricka–he hated her.

So ever since Kieran walked into the villa, he had been frowning.
And now, he seemed even more annoyed than before,
Jaume assumed Alarieka must’ve made another unreasonable request, using Wallace’s favor to her advantage–probably asking to tag along on another business trip with Kieran, like she always did.
He glanced toward the front gate but saw no sign of Alarieka, who used to follow Kieran everywhere.
So he ventured, “Mr. Argent, maybe you should be firmer with Ms. Huston. Just say no to her, and she might give up.”
Kieran looked up, his eyes dark and deep, and ordered, “Stop talking. Drive.”
Jaume shut up and started the engine.
He waited a moment until Kieran rubbed his forehead like he was tired
and asked, “What now?”
Jaume replied in a low voice, “I was just wondering why Ms. Huston didn’t come this time. Doesn’t she always stick with you?”
It was the weekend, and Alarieka didn’t have classes, Usually, she’d go with Kieran to his office or his house.
Kieran pressed his lips together, his eyes flicking toward the front gate.
It was quiet. Only a few maids moved about. Alarieka was nowhere in sight.
The sudden change unsettled him. His brow furrowed slightly.
“Forget about her. Let’s go.”
