Chapter125
She only saw Kieran with his back to her, seemed to have said
something to Jaylene, and Jaylene looked really upset, almost
looking at Kieran with disgust.
Kieran didn’t say anything else and got in the car.
Jaylene clenched her fist, looked at her spot, raised her hand,
and made à call me gesture by her ear.
Alarieka nodded.
After Kieran got in the car, he drove off quickly. He drove so
fast that Alarieka could hear the clear roar of the engine.
At that moment, Alarieka was calm again, sitting in the back
seat with no expression, watching Kieran’s face through the
rearview mirror.
Kieran’s brows were lowered, and there was a sharp look
between her eyes. Her dark eyes looked gloomy and sharp, and
her thin lips were pressed tight, like something had pissed her
off.
Alarieka thought it was funny.
Chapter125
Did they really think her selling barbecue at the school gate
embarrassed the Argent family?
She said, “Kieran, don’t worry, me selling barbecue at a stall
won’t affect your Argent family’s reputation. I already told
everyone a long time ago that I have nothing to do with your
Argent family anymore, so you don’t have to feel like I’ll
embarrass you.”
She thought that after she said this, Kieran would be less angry.
Didn’t expect it, Kieran’s brows furrowed even more, and his
dark eyes glanced at her in the rearview mirror.
Alarieka crossed her arms and gave an annoyed laugh, “Then
why were you mad?”
It couldn’t have been because he felt guilty since she wasn’t
doing well, right?
Impossible, absolutely impossible.
Not talking about what happened before, just talking about
what happened a few days ago.
Natalie almost stepped on her face, but Kieran still helped her
dad get a VIP room because she was Roschelle’s best friend.
Chapter125
Kieran knew about Wallace kicking her out of the Argent’s villa
and didn’t stop it.
A lot of things already explained everything.
It showed that Kieran didn’t care at all about how she was
doing, he just wanted to stay far away from her like in the last
life, and be together with Roschelle.
Kieran still didn’t say anything.
Alarieka lost her patience too, and her voice turned cold:
“Kieran, I told you, you better let me out. I smelled like barbecue
all over. Be careful or your car will smell too. If your clients or
partners, or even Roschelle smell it, I’m not responsible.“”
The car had only been driving for a few minutes when Kieran
stopped under an apartment building.
Kieran said with unmistakable sarcasm in his voice, “I just gave
you five million a few days ago, how did you spend it all so
fast?”
Alarieka crossed her legs and said casually, “Yeah, what’s the
problem?”
Through the rearview mirror, Kieran’s dark eyes stared right at
Chapter125
her.
“Spending money like crazy, how did you have the guts to leave
the Argent family?”
Alarieka shot back with a half–smile, “Wasn’t that to give you
and Roschelle some space? Your future kid can even use my old
room as a nursery, it gets good light.”
The corners of Kieran’s mouth curled into a sarcastic smile.
“Rose’s kid, you didn’t need to help for now!”
Kieran shifted his gaze to the gate of the neighborhood and said
calmly, “From now on, you’ll live here. It’s close to the school, so
it’ll be easy for you to go to and from class. If you ever need
money, just contact the assistant. I’ll have someone send you
some.”
Alarieka looked a bit surprised at Kieran’s back.
She really didn’t expect it.
She had thought Kieran would snap at her and tell her not to
buy barbecue again.
Maybe she really hated it and said she had nothing to do with
the Argent family.
Chapter125
She also thought Kieran would tell her to get lost and never
show up in front of him again.
I also didn’t expect that Kieran would arrange for her to live in
an apartment near the school, and even wanted to transfer her
some money.
The housing prices in the neighborhoods near the school were
ridiculously high. Alarieka also looked for a long time back then
before finally finding an old, shabby place to live in.
But so what.
She had already said, when she wasn’t strong enough yet, she
had to draw a line between herself and people like Kieran.
What Kieran was doing now, she worried was a sugar–coated
bullet.
If she really went along with Kieran and moved in, who knows
what would have happened.
Just like those years when I was adopted by the Argent family.
Everyone was jealous of her, even Tamika told her to get along
with the Argent family and hold on to this hard–earned wealth.
