Patrick froze in place, cold sweat dripping down his face. “What do you want from us?” he asked, his voice shaking.
Sadie covered her mouth in shock and looked at the man standing beside Brody. “Mr. Lennon? Why are you here?”
The assistant’s face was tense. “Be quiet! Give Mr. Quinlan his wife and son back.”
Brody looked irritated and suddenly struck Patrick’s leg. His expression turned serious. “Where are they?”
Patrick cried out in pain, then yelled in anger, “Who even are you? How dare you break into my home? Do you have any idea who I am?”
Brody smiled coldly and simply said, “Brody Quinlan.”
The room fell completely silent. Everyone’s eyes widened, and Patrick and Sadie looked at each other in shock.
Patrick shouted at Sadie, “He’s that Brody Quinlan?”
Sadie panicked and stammered, “I–I didn’t know!”
Furious, Patrick slapped her. “You said you were working with the Quinlan Group! You didn’t even recognize your boss?”
Sadie clutched her cheek and looked helplessly at the assistant. “I was interviewed by Mr. Lennon.”
The assistant stood frozen, head lowered, clearly terrified of Brody’s
reaction.

Chapter 5
Brody was done waiting. He grabbed Patrick by the collar and snapped, “Where is Tara?”
At the sound of my name, both Patrick and Sadie went pale.
Sadie muttered, “So… she was telling the truth. She really is married to Brody…”
Patrick immediately snapped back, “No! Tara is my wife. There’s no way she’s with him!”
At some point, Brody pulled out a dagger and suddenly drove it into Patrick.
With a cold glance, he scoffed, “Pathetic.”
Patrick held his wound and rolled around the floor in pain.
Brody turned to his team without wasting a second. “Search the entire house.”
However, after going through every room, they found nothing.
His eyes blazed with anger, and his voice was icy as he turned to the assistant behind him. “Make sure the Connery family goes bankrupt.”
The assistant nodded quickly, then shot a sharp glare at Sadie, warning her to stay silent.
Sadie stood frozen in fear. As she glanced at Patrick writhing on the floor, she was completely lost on what to do next.
Unintentionally, she met Brody’s gaze, and she saw a faint, chilling smile on his lips.
“You were the one who snatched the child from my wife at the airport?” Brody asked calmly, “The reason she was humiliated in public?”

Sadie instantly shook her head and pointed at Patrick in panic. “It wasn’t me! It was him!
“He’s the one who wanted to treat Tara that way. I had nothing to do with it!”
Patrick, groaning in pain, suddenly went quiet. He glared at Sadie and said through clenched teeth, “What did you just say?”
However, Sadie, already overwhelmed with fear, did not stop.
“He’s the one who dragged Tara and the child back here. He whipped her!
“He tied your child to the pillar outside and left him there in the cold!
“He also told Tara to hit herself with a brick!
“I didn’t know it was your child–none of it was my idea. It was all
Patrick!”
Patrick looked at her in shock and disbelief, anger flashing in his
eyes.
“Sadie, after everything I’ve done for you, this is how you repay me?”
Sadie ignored him and shouted back, her voice trembling.
“I never wanted any of this! You’re the one who cheated and kept chasing
me!
“You made me carry your child!
“You pushed me into all this!”
