Donald used his connections to contact the museum curator in advance, promising they’d leave before dawn. The curator reluctantly agreed to let them in.
Originally, only Julian needed to stay the night.
But Vivian’s mother, Renee Moore, insisted Vivian go with him, afraid something might happen to him physically.
Julian knelt before Princess Ariana’s remains, murmuring apology after apology on behalf of his ancestors.§
Halfway through, he grew weak and parched.§
“Vivian, I’m thirsty. Bring me a bottle of water.“>
But Vivian had already curled up on the mat nearby, her eyes closed.
“Julian, I’m scared. Get the water yourself. I’m pregnant and the aura around this tomb could hurt the baby.”§
Her cold indifference struck Julian hard. For the first time, a deep wave of regret surged through him.
If he had married me, I would’ve lifted the curse already.§
He wouldn’t be half–dead, kneeling in front of a centuries–old corpse to beg for forgiveness.
Marrying me would’ve spared him this torment.
Images from his past life flashed before him.
Qur wedding night–me waking early to cook for him.
He’d thrown the breakfast to the floor and fed it to the dog.
“Do you really think cooking for me will make me love you? I’ll never love you.”
He’d ordered the bodyguard to force–feed her birth control pills.
“No one but Vivian is allowed to carry my child.“}
I collapsed from an allergic reaction, frothing at the mouth.§
Julian had stepped over her, forbidding the servants to help.
“If you’re going to act, die right here.”>
When he returned that night and heard I’d been hospitalized, he assumed it was just another stunt.
After I recovered, I returned home–only to find him in bed with Vivian.§
I filed for divorce.
“Julian, I broke the curse. Can’t we just live in peace now?“}
He’d scoffed, holding Vivian close.
“What new manipulation is this? The curse is a myth. You’re not my savior. You think you can come and go from the Fletcher Family like it’s a hote!?“}
Then Vivian had attempted suicide.}
Her dramatic note blamed me.
Blinded by rage, Julian had set the fire that killed her.
Only now did he realize–he’d destroyed the only person who had ever truly saved him.
Tears slipped down his cheeks.
!
“Evelyn… I’m sorry. I really understand now…“}
Early the next morning, Lucas received a call from Mr. Fletcher.
Julian had returned and they wanted Lucas to confirm if the curse had lifted.”
As we arrived at the estate, we overheard the doctor inside sigh.
!
“His life has been saved, but the damage is permanent. I’m afraid Mr. Fletcher may never be able to father a child.” Donald lowered his head in silence.
Maddie paused only a moment before offering comfort.
“Vivian’s already pregnant. As long as the child is Julian’s, boy or girl–it’s the next heir of the Fletcher Family.”
