Chapter 17%
My wolf howled in agony deep within me. It knew what this meant
I knew exactly what I was about to lose.l.
But I had no choice
For my family, for Ezequiel, there was no other way
I guided the Alpha power within me, separating it bit by bit–until I stripped it all away. Then I channeled every last drop into Maya
A seaning pain tore through me like wildfire.
It was as if my soul had been ripped from my body
The cold swept over me, and my limbs went numb. Even breathing became difficult
The Alpha strength that had once surged through me–my birthright, my pride–was quickly vanishing
Across from me, Maya’s body began to shake violently. Her face twisted in a grotesque blend of agony and ecstasy. Her eyes turned blood–red as that unfamiliar surge of power mared through her veins.
“I can feel it! I feel it!” she shrieked, her voice cracking with a distorted edge. I’ve finally finally become an Alpha! I’m no longer that pathetic Omega everyone used to trample on!“E
She didn’t spare us a glance, not even checking if we were alive.
She was too intoxicated by her newfound strength–eyes wide with madness, laughter bubbling from her lips.
Drunk on power, she turned and vanished into the shadows, leaving behind nothing but silence and the bitter echo of her footsteps. The basement fell into stillness again.!!
My body was so weak i could barely keep my eyes open. My wolf whimpered inside me, faint and fading, too weak to respond to my calli
I had lost everything.”
My power, my identity–everything I once took pride in
But I didn’t regret it because Ezequiel and my family was safe?
In the suffocating darkness, I felt Ezequiel’s fingers twitch |
He stirred, groaning softly, sensing the loss of my power even in his half–conscious state⠀
My vision blurred.X
Consciousness slipped through my fingers like water
I didn’t know how much time passed
Minutes? Hours?
But then–suddenly, a force stirred the air
An overwhelming Alpha aura surged through the darkness
Not mine.X
It was Ezequiel’s.
His power–pure, ancient, and overwhelming–tore through the shadows like dawn breaking across the night sky.
He had awoken.
I could feel the pressure of his Lycan King bloodline swelling around us, tangible and commanding
With a single burst of strength, he snapped through his restraints. Then, with sharp precision, he undid the ropes binding me and my grandparents!
We escaped the basement and rushed back to the villa, only to find utter devastation,
The grand banquet hall was in ruins
Shattered furniture lay in heaps. Priceless artwork was gone.
Every room in the main house had been ransacked, overturned like it had been stormed by a mob
Maya hadn’t just taken my Alpha power–she had drained the Silver Moon Corporation’s entire liquid capital using the traps she’d laid in
advance
In the face of this devastation, I feel neither frustration nor rage
Our family stood united, leaning on one another. Wealth could be rebuilt–but bloodline and kinship were irreplaceable.
What Maya stole were nothing more than cold figures and material possessions. She can never take the true legacy of the Silver Moon family, nor touch the unshakable will that binds us together!!
“Come on,” my grandfather said softly, patting our hands gently “Let’s go home.”
We moved to a private mountain estate we had purchased years ago–a quiet, secluded retreat high in the hills
The air was fresh, the world peaceful. It was the perfect place to rest, recover, and wait–wait for Maya’s downfall
For her greed and crimes to devour her from within
Three days later the mountain’s tranquility was shattered.!!
A man stormed onto the estate, unannounced and uninvited.
was Weston
No one knew how he found our address, but he barged inside.l
He looked like a man who had clawed his way out of hell. His clothes were filthy, and his hair was matted. Bloodshot eyes were bulged from his sunken face
“Amalia” he howled, wild with grief. “Come out here! Blood must pay for blood! You demons! You murdered my children–again and again” He screamed, broken and furious.
I immediately signaled the guards to restrain him, but he fought like a rabid beast, thrashing and snarling as he repeated over and over, “Murderers‘ Blood for blood!“.
Eventually, he collapsed from exhaustion, his body trembling
I walked toward him and stared down coldly. “Weston. What kind of madness are you spewing now?”
The sound of my voice seemed to ignite something in him.X
He lunged forward, grabbing my arm with claw–like fingers, eyes blood red with grief and rage.
“Maya is dead!” he roared, shaking. “My child is dead too! It’s all because of you! You gave her that cursed Alpha power! You killed them both
My heart sank ||
Maya was dead?,
So soon?
Surprise rippled through me. But in the next breath, it made sensel
A natural–bom Omega forcefully absorbed Alpha power–it was a violation of balance.
Recoil was inevitable.”
Weston collapsed to his knees, beating his fists against the ground.
He howled, shattered and broken in a way I’d never seen before
Hours after Maya fed–giddy with power the backlash began.
The Alpha force she’d stolen wasn’t hers. It tore through her like a wild beast, wrecking her from the inside. Her body convulsed, foaming at the mouth, her skin turned a ghastly shade of violeL
And the child in her womb–the child she’d used as a bargaining chip–responded to the overwhelming Alpha energy in a horrifying way!!
It began to grow fast in an alarming speed.
Her abdomen swelled grotesquely, the skin stretched thin as paper, her veins visible and pulsing
She screamed in agony as her belly tore apart–ripped open from the inside.X
The malformed fetus burst forth in a flood of blood and tissue, clawing its way into the world
Maya convulsed on the floor, her body easy mangled, her consciousness slipping away in a haze of blood and screams.
That was the price of stealing what wasn’t hers–the curse of unnatural power.
