Chapter 15%
By the next morning, news of Damian’s death had spread.
Rumor had it he was taken out by a professional assassin hired by Weston. The manner of death was gruesome–his clothes had been stripped off, his body covered in exactly ninety–nine wounds, but none of them were fatal. However, they said he died from pain because hus genitals had been severed–pince by agonizing piece.X
What was even more laughable was that just hours after his death, Maya returned to Weston’s side.
Three days later, the Silver Moon Pack held a grand wedding ceremony for Ezequiel and me. The entire pack rejoiced as a massive moonlight totein shimmered at the center of the plaza. The white temple was adorned with a sea of fresh flowers, and the air echoed with solemn, sacred music!
I wore a wedding gown crafted from the Silver Moon Clan’s oldest loom, its ten–meter train embedded with tens of thousands of moonstones and diamonds. Each gem was worth a fortune–the gown’s total value exceeded ten billion, enough to buy out all of the Schultz family’s former empire several times over
Ezequiel wore the traditional ceremonial attire of the Lycanroyal line, tall and striking. His emerald green eyes reflected only me, and the commanding bura surrounding him made even the strongest Alphas instinctively lower their heads in submission.X
Logan, Weston, and Maya were all present. Their gazes held varying shades of gloom, unease, and envy. But none of that mattered anymore. What I had was a love that was unwavering and true.
Just as we were about to exchange vows, Logan suddenly stormed up the altar, shouting hysterically, “Ezequiel! Do you really think you’re marrying a pure, untouched Luna?!”
His voice cracked with desperation, echoing through the temple. “Amalia is my fiancée! She was pregnant with my child! She’s also Weston’s fated mate! She’s nothing but used goods, discarded by Alphas one after another! And you, you’re supposed to be a future king -how could you marry a woman like her?
A wave of whispers rippled through the crowd. Eyes flicked back and forth between me, Logan, and Ezequiel, filled with speculation, judgment, and even a hint of schadenfreude.
I felt their doubt like a thousand tiny needles pricking my skin, trying to pin me to a pillar of shame.”
I thought Ezequiel would falter. That he’d hesitate, question me, even if only with a glance.
But he didn’t
Instead, he simply tightened his grip on my hand, turned to face me, and looked deep into my eyes. In his emerald gaze, my past meant nothing. It blew past him like a summer breeze, leaving not a single mark behind.8
His unwavering trust wrapped around me like a warm blanket, melting every scar I’d once thought permanent
He turned to Logan and said, voice low and full of power, each word ringing with an undeniable authority, “Logan, you have no idea what it means to have a true fated mate. You don’t know what love is. You think lies and old bonds can erase the moonlight that radiates from my Luna? You’re a fool
The disdain in his tone made the air tense. His royal Lycan aura pressed down so fiercely that even Logan flinched in fear.
Without a moment of hesitation, Ezequiel took my hand and slid the Lycan royal wedding ring onto my finger–a ring set with a massive black diamond, ancient and luminous, as if carved from the night sky itself. Then he leaned down and kissed my forehead with reverence and love.!
“I vow, in wealth or poverty, in sickness or in health, through peace or hardship–I will love you, honor you, until death parts us.”
His voice was steady and gentle, every word branding itself on my soul. His eyes never wavered, and in them, I saw the kind of love that could melt even the harshest winters
At that moment, all the gossip vanished like smoke. The doubts, the whispers were gone.
My wolf howled with joy inside me, basking in the protection and loyalty of our fated bond.
The happiness I once believed forever out of reach now surrounded me, soft and luminous like moonlight on untouched snow!
Logan was completely silenced by Ezequiel’s dominance. He opened his mouth, but no words came out.
In the crowd, Maya stood, her face painted with flawless makeup–but the three grotesque scars across her face could not be hidden. As she watched Ezequiel hold me with such love, her jealousy almost consumed her whole.
She had once believed every Alpha would fall at her feet. Yet in the end, she couldn’t compare to me!
Still, she quickly masked her resentment behind her usual saccharine smile, Only this time, her scars seemed to laugh at first!
“Congratulations, Amulia,” she said, her voice honeyed but brittle. “But I have good news too…”
She paused, locking eyes with me, clearly searching for a crack in my expression.
“I’m pregnant again.“W
Her lips curved into a mysterious smile as she gently caressed her belly. “This time, I’ll give birth to a powerful Alpha heir. Tell me, do you think the child will inherit my brilliance… or his father’s strength?”
I laughed coldly inside.!!
Maya seemed like a bom gambler, always chasing the next chance to turn the tables. She probably didn’t even know for sure who the father was, but she was certain this pregnancy was her strongest bargaining chip to keep Weston !!
I met her gaze with a serene smile, neither denying nor reacting.
But deep down, I felt a wave of exhaustion.
047 AM
I’d thought Damian’s death was the end of it all. I’d even pitied Maya once–wanted her to take the money and heart corrupted by ambition and resentment never truly rests.
She would never stop, and she would never be satisfied
She was like a tumor–one that had to be removed completely, or it would continue to spread its poison.
I looked again at the twisted scars on her face, then at the hand stroking her stomach.
And in that moment, the last shred of hesitation in me vanished completely.
