Chapter 8X
The grand ballroom of the Silver Moon Consortium shimmered with opulence. Five–meter–tall crystal chandeliers cast dazzling lights across the room. This was the homecoming banquet my grandparents had arranged for me–an event that gathered every prominent Alpha from the werewall world
Draped in a flowing silver gown that gleamed like moonlight, I stood beneath the lights. My hair had fully recovered, cascading smoothly over my shoulders. My face bore no scars–it was smooth and flawless, as if I had been born noble and perfect.
That’s when I saw them–Logan, Maya, and Weston–stepping into the hall.
Logan still looked pale and sickly while Maya clung to Weston’s arm, her lips curled into a smug, polished smile. But her eyes were humming with envy X
“Amalia, congratulations,” Maya walked toward me first, wearing her trademark false sweetness. Then she raised her voice deliberately- just loud enough for my grandparents to hear.
“I heard your mother was so upset over your failed marriage that it killed her. Uncle Damien was furious too, and I was so worried about you But it’s such a relief your grandparents were willing to forgive you and take you in.”X
The moment she finished, the entire hall fell silent. Every gaze landed on me.
I let out a cold laugh, giving her no chance to continue her performance. Without hesitation, I reached out and yanked the wig off her hrad
Rip/
In an instant, her carefully styled hair vanished, revealing the uneven, burnt remnants beneath–raw evidence of her vanity and her shame. Paired with her heavily made–up face, she looked like a broken porcelain doll.
“Maya,” I said bolly, voice laced with contempt, “Did you think a wig could cover up your filthy little soul? That a few well–placed lies could drive a wedge between me and my grandparents?“;
Her face went pale. Clutching her scared scalp, she burst into tears and fled the ballroom in humiliation.
I turned to look at Weston, but he merely frowned and said nothing
After that brief but satisfying interruption, the banquet resumed. I kept my composure, moving gracefully through the crowd with practiced elegance..
Later that evening, I slipped away
by to the rooftop garden for a breath of peace.!!!
Under the cool night sky. I closed my eyes and let the stillness soothe me–until a familiar scent approached
I opened my eyes.
Weston stood before me.}
“Amalia,” he murmured softly. There was a tendemess in his voice I had never heard before. “You look… beautiful tonight.”
I said nothing, simply watching him.R
He took a step closer. “Amalia, don’t you remember? I’m the one the Moon Goddess destined for you. We belong together. Let’s start over. alright? My Luna can only be you.”
I laughed inwardly, but my face remained calm.
“Oh?” I raised an eyebrow, voice teasing. “You really love me?!
“I swear,” he said quickly, eyes eamest. “I’ve only ever loved you.”
I smiled faintly, and he hurried to defend himself further.
“Maya was just a mistake from my youth. Now I know my heart and soul have always belonged to you, Amalia. I’m willing to give up everything I have to make it right to make you the happiest Luna in the world!”
A faint, almost imperceptible smile tugged at the comer of my lips.)
As I turned my gaze toward the other side of the garden, I saw Maya standing there for some reason her face was twisted with fury.
A flicker of unease crossed Weston’s face.X
When Maya spoke, her voice was shrill and raw. “Amalia! You wretched slut! How dare you seduce my mate? Have you no shame?!”
I glanced at her, calm and unmoved
“if you arved late and missed the conversation, I’d be happy to repeat it for you,” I said coolly “Your husband was the one pestering me.”
I raised a brow slightly, and security immediately stepped in, dragging the still–screaming Maya away.
The Alphas present didn’t even flinch. No one cared about the tantrums of a disgraced omega, in their eyes, she was beneath them to begin with–especially acting like this.
“Enough” a familiar voice suddenly growled beside me!!
It was Damian–my so–called father. The Alpha who had climbed to power by feeding off my mother’s blood.
He pulled Maya away, not forgetting to nod politely at a few fellow Alphas as he dragged her out.
I stared at their retreating backs, eyes cold with hatred.
Then I turned, shoving Weston aside
“Weston,” I said clearly, “when you lose something, it means it was never meant to be yours. And now, someone like you c
afford someone like me.”
