The doors of the grand hall burst open with a deafening bang. A group of men in black stormed in, aggressive and imposing.
Diane’s eyes lit up the moment she saw the man at the front. She shrieked, “Big Brother! Save me!“}
The man she called Big Brother was thickset, with bulging muscles and garish tattoos of blue dragons and white tigers snaking across his arms. He strode in arrogantly, radiating menace.§
“Who the hell touched my woman?” he growled, eyes sweeping the room like a predator.
Weber Family bodyguards immediately stepped forward, forming a tight perimeter. “Who are you? You dare break into the Weber Family’s estate?”
Big Brother let out a loud, mocking laugh. “Weber Family? What a joke. Maybe five years ago, I’d have been cautious. But now?” He spat on the floor. “The Weber Family is nothing but a crumbling shell. I’m not afraid of you.”
Diane ran into his arms like a damsel in distress. Xander Ford gave her rear a vulgar squeeze and flashed a smug grin at Andrew, revealing a row of gold teeth.
“Tsk tsk. So this is the woman you pampered for years, huh? Sweet and juicy. You really had no idea–did you? Your precious Diane’s been feeding me your family’s secrets for years. I even got my people to snatch up your land bit by bit. You think this territory still belongs to the Weber Family? Think again. It’s mine now.“}
Andrew’s expression darkened with disbelief. “Ridiculous. The Weber Family’s resources run deep. A thug like you couldn’t possibly-“}
“Still in denial?” Xander sneered. “She’s been draining your assets for ten years. If it weren’t for that woman Geneva, your empire would’ve collapsed five years ago!“}
Gasps rippled through the guests. All eyes turned toward me, their gazes filled with regret and dawning comprehension.
“If only we hadn’t driven her away back then…” someone muttered.
Xander’s eyes scanned the room until they landed on me–standing quietly amidst the chaos, a sheer veil still covering my face.
He smirked. “So you’re Geneva. Not bad at all. Definitely prettier than Diane… especially those eyes.“}
Diane’s face fell, and she tugged on his sleeve. “Big Brother, don’t forget! She’s the one who bullied me. Teach her a lesson!“}]
Xander swaggered toward me, reaching out with a cocky grin. “Don’t worry, babe. I’ll break this little white flower with one hand-”
Before he could touch me, I caught his wrist–lightly, almost lazily.
His grin faltered.§
The next second, he screamed.}
CRACK.E
I twisted his wrist until bone shattered.
“You crazy bitch!” he shouted, lunging at me with a punch.”
But my other hand was already moving. A cold gleam flashed in the light–a short knife pressed firmly against his neck.
“Who are you calling a bitch?” I said, calm and sharp.
Xander froze, eyes wide with disbelief. “Y–You… You’re not the same woman from five years ago…“}
My smile widened coldly. “After five years locked in a mental hospital, did you think I’d come back unchanged?“>
A sudden shout came from the crowd.}
*Sister?!” Marco shot to his feet, face pale. “You… You were locked in a mental hospital for five years?! Who did this to you?!“} Gasps filled the room again. All eyes turned to Andrew–who clenched his fists in silence.
Xander laughed nastily. “Who else? The great Andrew, of course! The minute Diane whispered a few lies in his ear, he tossed this woman into Chicago’s most dangerous psychiatric institution. That place isn’t for the sick–it’s for criminals, monsters, people who pretend to be insane just to avoid prison.”}
He grinned viciously. “Most normal people who go in there don’t come out in one piece. Dead or broken. This woman surviving is a damn miracle.”
A heavy silence fell. Everyone turned to look at me again.
Marco trembled. His voice cracked with rage and disbelief. “You–You sent my sister there?!”
He glared at Andrew, who opened his mouth to explain-
BANG!!
A gunshot rang out.
Andrew collapsed, clutching his bleeding left leg.
Marco’s hand held the still–smoking gun, his eyes red with fury.
“She gave you everything! Even if she had no achievements, she was loyal! And this is how you repay her?!”
His voice broke. His hands shook.”
He looked at me, and the guilt in his eyes nearly undid me.”
“I should’ve found you. I should’ve protected you…”
“Marco.” My voice was soft, steady. I stepped toward him, placing a hand on his arm. “It’s over now. Let it go.”

His eyes searched mine, filled with pain, love, and sorrow. “How can you say that after what they’ve done to you?“>
A new voice cut in.
Dr. White stepped forward, his tone cold and resolute. “Didn’t I already say it?“}
He scanned the room.”
“Everyone who hurt her will pay. No one escapes.“}
