Chapter 21
The morning sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room, 1 sat up in bed, my head still aching from all the crying I had done the night before. But as the light warmed my skin, I felt a sense of calm wash over me
Thad made my decision.
The doubts were still there, lingering at the back of my mind, but they were overpowered by something stronger–trust. Scott had been a part of my life for as long as I could remember. He wasn’t perfect, but I knew him. I knew his heart, his intentions, and the way he had always stood by me, no matter what.
As much as it scared me to risk being hurt again, I didn’t want to live with the regret of not trusting him enough to take this step. I wasn’t going to let my past define my future. With a deep breath, I got out of bed and began to prepare for the wedding.
Meanwhile, at the venue, Scott was pacing nervously. He adjusted his tie for the fifth time, his hands trembling slightly as he tried to keep his composure.
“Relax, Scott,” my mother said, walking over to him with a reassuring smile.
He let out a shaky laugh. “How can I relax? I don’t even know if she’s going to show up.” “Che’ll be here,” my mother said confidently, placing a hand on his shoulder. “Hannah might be stubborn, but she knows her heart. And her heart belongs to you.”
Scott looked at her, his eyes filled with both hope and doubt. “What if I’ve lost her?” he asked quietly.
“You haven’t,” she replied firmly. “Trust her the way she trusts you.”
Scott nodded, taking a deep breath as he glanced at the entrance.
Back at the bridal suite, the air buzzed with excitement as the makeup artist put the final touches on my look. My hair was styled in loose waves, and the intricate lace details of my gown hugged my figure perfectly. I stared at my reflection in the mirror, barely recognizing the woman staring back at me.
“You look stunning,” one of the bridesmaids said, smiling brightly.
I forced a small smile, but my mind was elsewhere. I couldn’t stop thinking about everything that had led to this moment–the fights, the doubts, the love.
As the minutes ticked by, my heart began to race. This was it.
When the time came, I stepped out of the bridal suite, my mother waiting for me in the
hallway. She smiled, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.
“You’re beautiful, sweetheart,” she said, adjusting a stray strand of hair.
“Thanks, Mom,” I said, my voice trembling.
She took my hand, squeezing it gently. “Are you ready?”
I nodded, taking a deep breath. “Yeah. I’m ready.”

At the venue, everyone had taken their seats. The soft melody of the piano filled the air,
adding to the anticipation. Scott stood at the altar, his hands clasped in front of him as he tried to steady his breathing.
The seconds felt like hours, and the longer the wait stretched on, the more his nerves got the better of him.
But then, the doors opened.
The room fell silent as I stepped inside, the train of my gown flowing gracefully behind me. All eyes were on me, but my gaze was locked on Scott
His jaw dropped slightly as he took me in, his eyes wide with awe. He looked as if he were seeing me for the first time, and in that moment, all the doubt and fear melted away.
As I walked down the aisle, memories of our fight flashed through my mind. The hurt, the confusion–it all seemed so distant now. All I could see was the man who had loved me for years, the man who had stood by me through everything.
When I reached the altar, Scott stepped forward, his hands trembling as he took mine. “You came,” he whispered, his voice filled with relief.
“I told you I’d be here,” I replied softly, my lips curving into a small smile.
The ceremony went by in a blur of emotions. The vows we exchanged were heartfelt, filled with promises of love and commitment.
“I do,” Scott said, his voice steady as he looked into my eyes.
“I do,” I echoed, tears streaming down my face as I smiled at him.
The officiant declared us husband and wife, and as Scott leaned in to kiss me, the room erupted into applause.
The reception was everything I had dreamed of and more. The garden was lit with fairy lights, the soft glow creating a magical atmosphere. Our closest friends and family surrounded us, laughing and cheering as we celebrated our union.
Scott and I shared our first dance under the stars, the world around us fading away as we swayed to the music.
“You know,” Scott said, his lips close to my ear, “I was really nervous you wouldn’t show up.”
“I know,” I said with a smile. “But I’m here. And I’m not going anywhere.”
He pulled me closer, his arms wrapped around me as we moved in sync. Later that evening, after all the toasts, dances, and laughter, Scott and I finally retreated to

As I stepped inside, I kicked off my heels, letting out a sigh of relief. “That was incredible,” 1 said, turning to Scott.
“You were incredible,” he replied, his eyes filled with warmth as he walked over to me.
He cupped my face in his hands, his thumbs gently brushing against my cheeks. “I still can’t believe you’re mine,” he said softly.
“And I can’t believe you’re mine,” I replied, my voice just as tender.
He leaned down, capturing my lips in a kiss that was slow and deep, filled with all the love we had for each other.
That night, we made love, our hearts and bodies completely in sync. It wasn’t just about passion–it was about connection, about trust, about finally letting go of the past and embracing the future.
As I lay in his arms afterward, my head resting on his chest, I felt a sense of peace I hadn’t felt in years.

“I love you more,” he replied, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
