Chapter 6
“Give it up, Silas won’t go over there.”
Hearing Rachel, Luna felt like she’d fallen into an ice cellar. She never expected Rachel to be the one who answered the phone.
Luna gritted her teeth. “Where’s Silas? Let him take the phone!“.
Before she finished, Silas‘ voice came through. “Rachel, whose call is this?”
Rachel pouted. “Luna said she’s been kidnapped, and they want 15 million ransom. I think she’s just making it up!”
“What?” Silas hurried over and took the phone from Rachel. After some rustling, his voice came through the line. “Luna?”
Before Luna could speak, Silas‘ accusing voice came first, “When did you become like this? Using tricks to lie to me? You know I’m broke. Where am I supposed to get 15 million for you?”
Luna’s hand trembled so much she could barely hold the phone. Her voice was hoarse. “Silas, I’m not lying. I was-”
Even the kidnapper couldn’t stand their argument. He snatched the phone. from Luna’s hand and yelled, “Silas, your wife’s with me. If you want her alive, send the money, now! Otherwise, I’ll kill her!”
After a pause. Silas replied coldly, “Luna, I don’t have time for your games. When you’re done pretending, go home early.”
After that, he added coldly. “If you want to play, then let the kidnapper kill you.” Then he hung up.

The kidnapper froze for a moment, then suddenly smashed the phone into Luna’s head. Blood poured from the wound.
Luna sat still, without any expression. Her heart felt like a huge hole, constantly letting out air. After a long time, she laughed, tears streaming down her face.
The kidnapper grabbed her by the hair, forcing her head back. He said. viciously. “If he won’t pay, then you can die!”
After saying that, he called out to his men and walked away. Alone in the empty warehouse, a series of explosions rang out.
The scorching heat burned her tears dry, and the massive blasts nearly tore her insides apart. As she lost consciousness, only one thought crossed her mind.
She regretted falling for Silas.
If she had a chance to start over, she wouldn’t be moved by his dazzling eyes again.
She didn’t die. When she opened her eyes, all she saw was a clean white ceiling.
In just one month, this was her third time in the hospital.
She forced herself to sit up, and a calm, gentle voice came from beside her. “You’re awake?”
