Chapter 220
Third Person’s POV
The lights in the villa were bright and warm, completely at odds with the storm about to unfold.
Melanie looked up when she heard the front door slam open. Denton stood there, his face twisted in fury.”
“Denton? Wh–what’s wrong?” she asked, pretending to stay calm.”
Yet he didn’t answer. Instead, he stormed over and threw a thick stack of papers straight at her face.
“Read it!” he shouted, eyes bloodshot and locked on her. “Read what you’ve been doing all these years!“”
Melanie’s face drained of color. Her hands trembled as she picked up the papers from the floor. Her eyes scanned the report, the damning records, and the compromising photos, and suddenly her whole body stiffened.”
“No… This isn’t real…” she mumbled, tears instantly welling up. “You can’t believe that witch, Denton! Sadie made all of this up. She just wants to destroy me, destroy us!“}
She lunged toward him, trying to bury herself in his arms like she always did, relying on her tears and her frailty to soften him.”
But Denton didn’t budge.”
“Melanie,” he said coldly, “do you really think I’m still that same fool you used to wrap around your finger?”
His voice cut like a blade as he stepped closer.
“While studying abroad, you sold yourself to old white men just to climb the social ladder. And your ex–husband wasn’t some cheating scumbag. You were the one sleeping around. He kicked you out after catching you with multiple men! And Jewel’s heart condition? It wasn’t genetic. You did drugs during pregnancy. You caused it! As for the baby you claim is mine?” He laughed bitterly then continued, “You can’t even get pregnant! After that week–long bender with God knows how many men, you had to get a hysterectomy just to save your life. You’ll never have children again!“}
“You’re lying!” she screamed, her voice shrill and cracking.”
But Denton’s eyes were blazing with rage and disgust.
“You thought you hid it all so well. You thought your lies would stay buried forever.“}
He kept walking toward her, step by step, like a man possessed.
“You owe me a life, Melanie!” he roared. “After Mick died, Sadie got into that car crash because of you! You tried to have her killed!”
His voice cracked with anguish.
“Luckily, she survived, but the baby didn’t. That child was mine too. You took both of my children from me!“}
In a flash, he grabbed her by the throat and slammed her against the wall. His hand tightened around her neck, his eyes blazing.”
“You evil woman! You killed my babies!”
Melanie’s face turned a sickly purple. She clawed at his arms, struggling, gasping.
“I… I didn’t,” she choked out, eyes wide with terror.”
But the look on Denton’s face made it clear that whatever love or pity he once had for her was gone. It was already replaced by hatred, so deep it nearly consumed him.”
He wanted her to pay, to suffer for every vile thing she’d done.
“You bitch! You deserve to die!” he growled.”
Just then, as she gasped for breath, Melanie reached into her sleeve and pulled out a syringe. With the last of her strength, she stabbed it into his neck.
Denton’s eyes went wide.
His blood felt like it was boiling, rushing through his veins at lightning speed. Waves of euphoria slammed into his brain like a drug overdose, and his muscles started to convulse uncontrollably.N
The room distorted, the chandelier above him refracting rainbow colors in a surreal haze.
He then collapsed to the ground, twitching, writhing in pain and confusion.\
Melanie stood over him, her lips curled into a triumphant smirk.
“Denton,” she whispered darkly, “You’ll never get rid of me.“N
