His eyes were bloodshot with anger, wishing he could rush up and separate them immediately. No one could touch his Marissa! But in
reality, no matter how he banged on the door like a madman, there was no response at all.
Matt could only watch in despair as Marissa and Dwayne slowly intertwined with each other… his Marissa!
Matt suddenly pounded on the mansion’s front door, let out a painful roar, and then passed out completely.
When he woke up again, he found himself in the hospital. Matt sat up suddenly and Marissa was right in front of him!
All of this felt like a dream, he didn’t even dare to reach out his hand to see if the other person was real or just his imagination.
Matt’s eyes were red, and he was breathing carefully. “Marissa, you finally agreed to see me…
Marissa nodded slightly.
“Do you still have me in your heart? Are you still angry? I know I was wrong! Marissa, please forgive me and give me another chance? I don’t want anything else, not Leah, not the child, I just want you, Marissa, Marissa…”
His voice was filled with a heavy sob, as if tears were about to fall the next second. He desperately longed for her response, craving her love. However, Marissa remained expressionless throughout, looking at him as if he were a stranger.

Matt’s heart was pounding so hard it felt like it might jump out of his chest. If only it could, he would show Marissa just how much he loved her. He felt like he would die if he ever had
to leave her. They had been in love for so long! How could she not want him?
When Marissa still hadn’t said a word, Matt finally broke down and cried.
“Marissa, are you hating me? I hit Leah’s child, I got rid of Leah, and my parents, they can only stay in the old house from now on, they can no longer interfere with us. Marissa, forgive me, please forgive me!“”
He said countless apologies full of remorse, but Marissa remained indifferent, looking at him coldly.
It wasn’t until the end that she finally spoke, “It’s always been you who hurt me, Matt. I don’t love you anymore. I have a better life now. Don’t come near me again.”
After speaking, she turned around and walked away without hesitation.
No! Don’t!
Matt sat up suddenly! His hand still held out in front as if something had slipped through his fingers. It was just a dream.
With trembling hands, Matt set down the phone, but the next second, he saw a note on his bedside table.
As if sensing something, Matt trembled and took it over.
I don’t love you anymore, don’t come looking for me.
It was Marissa’s handwriting.
Matt looked at the sentence, and in an instant, all his long–held beliefs shattered. He couldn’t help but burst into tears.

Marissa was right. The only person who hurt her was
always himself.

It was his desire for the warmth Leah gave him, from initially just wanting a child, to wanting a real family of three, it was his own repeated disbelief in Marissa. Even the suggestion from his parents to send her abroad, it was he who agreed and bought the ticket himself.
He was the one who deserved to be punished the most!
If Marissa had not missed that flight, she would have really been in an accident now, and I would never have seen her again!
Matt unsteadily pulled out the IV from the back of his hand, got out of bed, and then walked over to the window.
This is the twenty–second floor. As long as he died here, Marissa would definitely know his apology.
Matt looked at the tiny scenery below, suddenly seeing a blurry figure. He squinted his eyes and realized that the person was Marissa.
Her long hair was blown by the wind as she looked up, seeming to make eye contact with him before quickly turning and leaving the hospital.
Matt didn’t know if Marissa had seen him from such a distance, but he no longer had the faint thought that if he died, he would never see Marissa again.
He stood by the window for a long time, his frail figure on the verge of collapse due to illness.
Matt picked up his phone and said, “Help me arrange a flight back to my country.”
The butler paused for two seconds. “Mr. Holloway, do you need one or two?”

He looked at the person he would never see again, a bitter smile on his lips, tears sliding down his cheeks.
“One, only one.”
