Chapter 19 Call Me Mr. M
The adjutants around Gustav all held their breaths, looking at
him nervously.
The stern look on his face clearly said one thing–he was in a bad mood. They couldn’t help but silently wish the caller good
luck.
Victor whispered in Gustav’s ear, “Mr. Mullen, you gave the Schrader family your spare number before, and it’s Mrs. Mullen on the line. Maybe she’s found out about what you did. Would
you like to pick up?”
Still as calm as ever, Gustav looked up and said to the adjutants,
“Meeting adjourned.”
Under everyone’s stunned gaze, he stood up and walked into his
private lounge next door.
”
He unbuttoned the collar of his military uniform, his Adam’s
apple bobbing. Then he said, “Put her through.”
After a pause, he added, “No projection.”
“Alright, Mr. Mullen.”

Meanwhile, Erwina, who was flopped on the big, soft bed, lazily swayed her feet back and forth in the air.
She thought about what she should say to the bigshot after he
picked up.
First, she needed to ask him why he’d helped them before. It was
vital.
She sincerely hoped he had nothing to do with Gustav.
Then she had to try her best to convince him to help them again. Sure, she might need to offer something in return. But after everything he had already done for them, it was only fair.
She’d say yes to all as long as his demands weren’t excessive.
Just then, the call went through.
She immediately straightened up, only to see darkness. His
projection was disabled.
Shrugging, she figured that he was being discreet. After all, he
held a position in the Royal Palace.
Without dwelling on it, she said respectfully, “Hello. I’m Erwina Schrader, from the Schrader Restaurant. Thank you so much
for your earlier help.“”

Gustav watched Erwina on the screen. She was in an elegant dress, her hair cascading over her shoulders. She seemed so sweet and gentle–looking at her, no one would think she was the type who’d marry a total stranger.
He had Victor turn on the voice modulator for him in advance,
and his usually deep voice softened, sounding warm and
mature.
“It was nothing.”
“Quite contrary, it was a big help. May I ask you something? Why did you help us?”
“I… enjoy the Schrader Restaurant’s dishes.”
So, he was a fan of the Schrader Restaurant? Erwina nodded,
her tone brightening.
“Isn’t that nice? We’re about to open a new branch in District I. You live there, right? You’ll be able to enjoy our food all the
time!”
“Glad to know!”
Though he was reserved, his fondness for the Schrader
Restaurant’s dishes somehow brought them closer.

Their conversation went smoothly, though it was Erwina who
did most of the talking.
After chatting for a while, she got down to business. “We might
be facing some temporary issues regarding fresh produce
supply. Could you … help us again? Of course, I know it’s kinda
rude to ask. If it troubles you, we can always…”
“Alright.”
His voice was as mellow and gentle as a cello’s tone, pleasant to
the ear.
And he agreed so readily!
Erwina was fond of good–looking people and those with nice
voices. She sincerely expressed her gratitude again.
Before their conversation came to an end, she asked tentatively,
“Sir, how may I address you?”
“Call me Mr. M.”
“Mr. M, do you … know Commander Mullen?”
“No, I don’t!”
He answered so fast that she was slightly stunned. She widened
her pretty eyes, her lashes fluttering with confusion.

Gustav frowned and added, “What I mean is, I don’t know him
well.”
