Chapter 17 The Bigshot
Erwina said, “Maybe. But I’ve given it some thought. Meg, Wynfield saved your life. Shouldn’t you repay this huge favor? Why don’t you marry him? It’ll also help with maintaining the two families‘ friendship. Isn’t that killing two birds with one
stone?”

Megan couldn’t help but stagger back a few times as she saw the
sincere smile on Erwina’s face.
This was completely different from what she had pictured in
mind.
According to her plan, Erwina should be cursing her and
beating her with fury, which would upset the entire Schrader
family.
And then everyone would condemn Erwina.

The earnestness in Erwina’s eyes was so real, as if she were
indeed looking out for Megan. Seeing this, Megan was totally
dumbfounded, not knowing what to say.
At last, she was supported back to her room because her leg
hurt so much.
After she left, Erwina smiled mockingly and then turned to
Derrick’s study.
“Grandpa, will the Cowan family make things hard for us?”
The two families had worked closely over the years for mutual benefit. But in comparison, the Schrader family had earned
more. After all, they monopolized UEP’s entire catering
industry.

The Cowan family’s profits were less than a third of theirs.
As time went by, certain ambitious members of the Cowan family grew unsatisfied. So, they had indulged Wynfield to act as he liked at the wedding, wanting to know how the Schrader
family would react.
Of course, Derrick knew Anton better than anyone. He asked Erwina, “If they really cut off our supply, what do you suggest
we do?”

“We have to make thorough preparations in advance to prevent
vulnerabilities. Dad told me the interstellar bandits had once
hijacked the aircraft, and a bigshot stepped in to help. Grandpa,
can we reach out for his help again?”
After coming around, Erwina had spent two years mostly at
home, but she hadn’t been idle.
Chapter
She had thoroughly learned all the major events that had
occurred in the family during those five years.
That was why she knew about the hijacking.
Derrick stroked his chin for a while before saying, “Honestly?
I’m not sure why he helped us. I know he works at the Royal Palace, but I’ve got no idea what his actual role is. All I have is
his number.”
The… Royal Palace?

The second Erwina heard those words, Gustav’s face emerged in
her mind.
She even had a nightmare last night–the adorable Gustav kissed her, his eyes red, and in the next second, he wanted to
strangle her with his tail!
Of course, Derrick didn’t know she was recalling the nightmare. He continued, “Since he’s a bigshot in the Royal Palace, I’m not sure if he’ll help. I’ll give you his number and leave the rest to
you!”
After a moment of silence, Erwina nodded.
The number was like a hot potato, though.

Maybe she was overthinking it. Hopefully, the bigshot had
nothing to do with Gustav.
Ethan came back after a while.
He checked on the injured Megan first before rushing over to
Erwina.
“Wina, come out here. I’ve got something to say to you.”
Erwina stopped caring about him much after she knew he was nicer to Megan than to her.
She said seriously, “Dad, what is it that Grandpa can’t know?”
Derrick glanced at Ethan coldly.
Ethan faltered and could no longer ask her to come out.
Frowning, he said, “Wina, you’ve caused some serious trouble this time. Wynfield didn’t stand you up on purpose that day. Besides, he already asked for your forgiveness. Why couldn’t you just forgive him? Do you know the Cowan family is having second thoughts about the two families‘ collaboration now?
