chapter4
1 stopped in my tracks.
What he said was about last night’s Instagram.
We had been in a relationship for six years, but Adrian had always refused to make our relationship public.
Last night, I posted on Instagram about Allisson,
They held hands in front of the hospital bed, with a picture of Allissen peacefully sleeping
Adrian’s post: “With you by my side, it felt like I had the whole world.”
There were many comments below.
“Is this my sister–in–law?”
“Adrian, you sly devil, keeping it hidden for so many years before finally going public. Looks like something good is on the horizon, huh?”
Of course, there was also one reply: “What do you guys know? This is Adrian’s first love goddess!”
I saw it and there was no ripple,
le, so i casually gave it a like
But soon, that Instagram
post
was deleted,
I probably forgot to set it as visible only to myself.
I had never looked through Adrian’s phone, but just a few days ago, I accidentally saw Adrian’s phone lit up
Curiously, I glanced and saw that his Instagram was filled with private photes that were only visible to him.
I scrolled down several times. It was full of endless Allissons.
About their every little detail, even though it happened six years ago, it still holds significant weight in his heart.
At that moment, I knew I had lost.
Thinking of this, I smiled.
“No, what Instagram? What did you post?”
Adrian examined my expression, not noticing anything unusual, and he let out an almost imperceptible sigh of relief.
“Kathleen, wait for me to come back, and then it will be the last day for Allisson to be discharged from the hospital!
“When her eyes were healed, I would let her move out of our house, and by then, I would spend more time with you
I laughed coldly.
Adrian had been looking for a house for Allisson everywhere a few days ago.
Alisson wanted a villa that met certain criteria. It had to be in good condition, with excellent amenities and a quiet environment. Additionally, it had to
meet Allisson’s desired lighting requirements.
I looked up at him expressionlessly. “You can handle your own matters, no need to tell me.”
Adrian frowned when he beard these words.
He grabbed my arm and said, “Kathleen, are you angry?*
“The reason why I treated Allison so well is because I learned about some things that happened in the past… She was very pitiful.”
“You were my girlfriend, you should have put yourself in my shoes and not get jealous, okay?”
I smiled even more, brushing away his hand. “You’re overthinking, I wasn’t really angry.”
In two more days, I would leave.
“I’m glad you’re not angry. The day after tomorrow is our sixth anniversary, so wait for me in the evening, I’ll take you out for a candlelight dinner.”
Adrian smiled and scratched my nose.
I left while carrying the bag
Chapter 4
It was difficult for him to remember the sixth anniversary. Since he was willing to come and have this meal, let’s make it a formal farewell.
Say everything clearly, and part ways amicably.
But two nights later, I sat in the reserved restaurant and waited for over two hours, but Adrian still hadn’t shown up
Finally, by the time it was 11 o’clock in the morning, the food had already gone cold.
Adrian just received a text message.
“I’m sorry Kathleen, Allisson had some issues at the hospital, I had to accompany her. You go ahead and eat by yourself first.”
I replied faintly, “Okay.”
The person then quietly finished eating, and the next day, without waiting for him to return, he picked up his suitcase and left the city.
Adrian worked until the aftermoon of the next day.
Finally, there was some free time available.
His first reaction was to open his phone and take a glance at the chat conversation with me
No new messages popped up. There was only a concise and eye–catching “good“.
Adrian couldn’t help but frown.
“Why have you been so well–behaved recently?”
He sent me a message with a smile
“Hey, silly, why haven’t you been checking on me lately? You also haven’t asked me when I’ll be coming home?”
As the message was sent, a faint smile played on his lips.
On the way back, be unconsciously stopped at the dessert shop and bought a strawberry cake that I love to eat.
Allisson smelled the sweetness of strawberries and chuckled as she reached out to take them.
“How did you know I wanted to eat cake?”
Adrian stepped back and withdrew his hand, “It wasn’t for you.”
His gaze fell on the cake, and he carefully picked it up, revealing a hint of tenderness in his eyes.
“It was for Kathleen.”
However, half an hour passed and there was no reply to the message
Adrian felt a bit overwhelmed in his heart. After arranging Allisson at the villa, he tried to call me
“Dumbass, answer the phone quickly.”
t
But it indicated that the other party had turned off their phone.
Adrian’s smile froze instantly.
He knew that during these six years of being in a relationship, I had a severe fear of running out of battery and had never turned off my phone.
Adrian suddenly panicked, his heart started racing, and he went crazy trying to stop the vehicles on the side of the road!
The repetitive action of dialing the phone on hand never stopped.
“Pick up the phone quickly, Kathleen!”
“Please don’t let anything happen…”
