Chapter 20
Upon hearing this, Kaleigh’s outstretched hand froze in mid–air, and she looked at Victor behind
Lizeth with a complex expression.
Victor looked at the mess in front of him, his face filled with sarcasm.
Facing the pointing and whispering of others, Gabriela’s face grew even redder, and she didn’t care
about anyone else pointing at Victor.
“It’s all your fault. If it weren’t for you, how could I have been sent to Greenmarsh!”
With her family background, she could have had an easy time in Greenmarsh. Little did she know
that Kaleigh was determined to teach her a lesson and even cut off her card. Every month, she could
only rely on Kassandra’s meager assistance to get by.
“Blame me? Who was the one who looked down on me, mocked me? And who was the one who sent
you to Greenmarsh without thinking it through, yet still blames me for the mistake?” Victor said
coldly. “Gabriela, did you leave something behind in Greenmarsh?”
Upon hearing Victor secretly curse at her for not using her brain, Gabriela stood up and continued
to go berserk.
“Enough!” Kaleigh turned to look at Gabriela beside her, her words carrying a warning. “Haven’t you had enough of Greenmarsh?”
“Sister!”
“You actually spoke up for Victor against me? What’s so good about him anyway! He looks like a
stick, no figure, no charm, just an orphan…”
“Snap!”
Victor suddenly approached and slapped Gabriela.
“So what if I was an orphan? I am still better than someone like you, who lacks manners!”
He turned his head to look at Kaleigh.
“Kaleigh, manage your household!”
Kaleigh clenched her fists and sternly instructed the secretary beside him.
“Talan, take the young lady to the hospital.”
Talan no longer hesitated and quickly approached, covering Gabriela’s mouth with his hand and dragging her out.

“Victor,” Kaleigh looked guilty, “I’m sorry about what happened today…”
“Ms. McCann apologized to the wrong person, didn’t she?” Victor said coldly as he looked at Leonel, who had been hastily summoned by the butler. “Today is the Holloway family’s banquet.”
Leonel had already learned the general details of the incident from the butler on his way here.
He walked over without even glancing at Kaleigh, who had realized and apologized to him, and just looked concernedly at his wife and younger brother.
“Are you not injured?”
The two people shook their heads.
Leonel only looked at Kaleigh.
“The farce today, my assistant will discuss the compensation with Ms. McCann.”
After speaking, he asked the butler standing by to take them upstairs to rest.
This banquet was not ruined by a small incident.
It was not until late at night that Kaleigh returned to the McCann family after discussing compensation with the Holloway family butler.
It was then discovered that the McCann family’s lights were on.
The nanny saw her come back and hurriedly approached.
“Miss Kaleigh, please go and persuade Sir McCann. After all, Miss Gabriela is still young…”
Kaleigh walked into the gate while listening, and immediately saw Gabriela kneeling on the ground with several handprints on her face.
On the other side of the sofa.
Kassandra lowered her gaze and cried softly, while Lucian, holding a whip, glared angrily at Gabriela.
“I see that you have been spoiled over the years! Who is Victor, and what is the Holloway family’s status? How dare you get involved with them!”
Most of the McCann family’s businesses were overseas, so Lucian often stayed abroad for work, leaving Kassandra to take care of household matters.
It was not until this year that Lucian shifted his focus to the domestic market.
After listening to the butler’s account of what they had done over the years, Lucian’s mind went

completely dark!
“Since you don’t understand the rules, then stay in Greenmarsh and never come back in your lifetime!”
“Dad!” Gabriela screamed, kneeling on the ground. Kaleigh, who was standing nearby, quickly walked up to help her out.
“Dad, my sister was still young…”
“What a fool! You’re in your twenties and still don’t think before you act! And so are you! Besides love, what else is in your brain?”
Kassandra, who was standing by, couldn’t help but defend her daughter when she was being
scolded.
“Lucian–”
Lucian heard Kassandra’s voice, and only then did he remember that he had also forgotten about
Kassandra.
“And you, oh mother, have spoiled your children so much!”
As soon as he heard that his carefully nurtured daughter had been in two car accidents for a man and was constantly talking about wanting to die, the anger that had finally subsided in his eyes ignited again.
“They both are ignorant, and you also follow along with their mischief. Your daughter is willing to
live or die for a man, and you let her go to her death! The McCann family doesn’t lack other
children, yet they have to ruin a boy’s five years of youth and future. Your daughter is the same, at this age, why not learn something good instead of those bad things? Not only does she not respect her brother–in–law, but she also bullies her elders! What have you been teaching all these years?”
Kaleigh heard her mother and sister being scolded, and her heart grew even more reluctant. However, a single glance from Lucian made her freeze in place.
“Go to the study with your sister and tidy up later!”
