Chapter 16
It had been a long time since Victor had heard the name Kaleigh, and for a moment, he felt a bit
dazed.
The dean continued to speak by his side.
“But looking at his appearance, I knew he treated you badly, so I didn’t tell him at all.”
After having dinner with the dean, he finally returned to the Holloway’s villa.
Because it was just a short visit back to the country, Leonel and Lizeth directly brought him back to their own home.
Seeing him come back, Lizeth greeted him warmly and took him to the restaurant for some soup.
After chatting about the art exhibition for a while, the two of them, Victor and the other person, finally returned to their rooms to rest for the next week.
The McCann Group building.
Kaleigh stared at the photo on the table for a long time.
It has been two years, exactly two years, and despite mobilizing the entire McCann family’s resources, they were unable to find Victor’s whereabouts.
Looking at the young and inexperienced person in the photo, a bitter smile tugged at the corners of
her mouth.
This is her wedding photo with Victor, and it is also the only photo they have taken together in the past five years.
People always have to wait until they lose something to appreciate it.
She now understands this sentence.
When Victor had just left, she thought it was just because she had gotten used to his care for her that she was so unaccustomed to his departure.
Until I saw the agreement he made with Kassandra and the various things that happened afterwards.
She only realized that her habit towards him had long turned into affection.
This affection was ignored because of Dorian’s presence.
By the time he admitted his love, he had already left his own world.

The office door was knocked from outside, and then the assistant walked in.
“Ms. McCann, you are invited to visit the new artist exhibition in the city center tomorrow.”
It was only after the divorce that Kaleigh realized how little she knew about Victor.
When Victor came back from his trip, he thought he suddenly became interested in painting.
Later, it was discovered that he had been studying art since childhood. If he hadn’t given up going
abroad to further his studies in order to repay a debt of gratitude, he would have become a rising
star in this industry long ago.
Maybe it was to understand him, or perhaps it was to get a little closer to him.
He would visit any art exhibition held in Welltown.
On the other hand, a classmate had already sent the list of media and entrepreneurs invited to this
art exhibition to Victor, so that he could be prepared.
When Victor saw Kaleigh’s name on the list, he had a momentary pause.
His classmates looked at him and quickly said.
“If you didn’t want to see her, you wouldn’t have to come out and face those interviews.”
He shook his head with a smile.
“It’s okay.”
From the first day he returned to his country, he knew that they would meet one day, you can avoid
the first day of the month but not the fifteenth.
Moreover, what was there for him to be afraid of?
He had already paid off the debt he owed to her family.
They were just strangers now.
On the day of the art exhibition, a continuous stream of visitors followed the signs and entered the gallery.
Kaleigh was also walking among them.
Over the past few years, she visited many art exhibitions and gained some understanding of the
paintings on the walls.
Every painting was beautiful, until the appearance of this painting.

There were no extra lines, only the scenery of the mountains.
The name of this painting was written on the plaque next to it.
“Freedom”
Out of nowhere, she remembered Victor.
Married for five years, Victor always revolved around her, waiting for her at home twenty–four hours a day.
Lost myself, without a trace of freedom.
It was the most ordinary thing, but it became her luxury.
Lost in thought, a familiar male voice entered her ears.
She looked towards the sound and immediately saw the person she had been longing for.
In an instant, her world suddenly became silent, and all she could see, and feel was the man in front
of her.
He stood tall and elegant, introducing his works to the people in front of him with a gentle smile on
his face.
“Victor!”
