Chapter 8
Soon, a group of socialites and young gentlemen, led by Gabriela, sneered and walked towards him.
When Victor looked up again, there was already a crowd surrounding him.
Gabriela looked at him with a smile, “Victor, what does it matter that you have been married to my sister for so many years? You still can only stand here lonely, watching my sister and Dorian being affectionate.”
“I have already told you before, my sister’s affection is for Dorian. Being with you was just to heal her emotional wounds. It’s about time you had the sense to leave. How can you still shamelessly cling to my sister?”
Victor still had to hurry back to pack his luggage and didn’t want to pay attention to these people. He turned around and was about to leave.
Who knew that this group of people would become even more extreme.
“What dreams did the ugly duckling have of becoming a beautiful swan!”
“If it weren’t for Dorian going abroad, do you think someone like you could have become the son–in–law of the McCann family?”
“Don’t you know what kind of person you were?”
“I advised you, if you had any sense, to willingly step down and get out of the McCann family.”
They were talking and pushing him at the same time.
“Did you become mute?”
“We were talking to you. Did you hear us?”
Seeing Victor remaining silent, one of the hot–tempered individuals couldn’t bear it any longer and forcefully pushed him backwards!
“Bang!”
A loud noise.
Victor crashed heavily onto the towering champagne tower behind him, shattering the wine glass into pieces. The white wine mixed with red blood, creating a horrifying sight.
All eyes immediately turned to him.

Looking at Victor lying on the ground covered in blood, his eyes filled with anger, he quickly crouched down and helped him up.
While having someone call for a private doctor, they looked around at the people coldly.
“Who did it?!”
Everyone was scared and remained silent.
Her face turned extremely gloomy, just as she was about to speak, the bodyguard suddenly ran
over.
“Ms. McCann, Mr. Madden suddenly said he had a stomachache. Please go and check on him
quickly!”
Kaleigh didn’t let go of Victor. She just furrowed her brows slightly.
“Was it very serious?”
The bodyguard looked anxious, “Mr. Madden was in so much pain that he was rolling around.”
This time, the hesitant person became Kaleigh.
She looked at Victor, a hint of hesitation flashing across her face.
“Victor, I…”
Victor understood what she wanted to say, struggled to sit up from her embrace, with a calm expression.
“Well, I know, he was spoiled since childhood, and he would feel uncomfortable for a whole day if he got even a little hurt, and you were used to taking care of him.”
Unexpectedly, Victor stole the words she wanted to say. Her thin lips twitched, but she couldn’t utter a single word.
Victor, however, staggered to his feet and continued, “It’s okay, you go and accompany him. The doctor should go and see him first. I’ll handle it myself.”
For some reason, she felt a little flustered as she watched him being so indifferent.
He used to be so generous before.

But today, he suffered such a serious injury, yet he was overly generous.
He was so generous that he even turned a blind eye to his presence.
This is not like him, before his eyes were full of himself.
When did he start to become like this?
Kaleigh was about to speak when suddenly, from not far away, came the sound of Dorian screaming in pain.
Finally, she no longer hesitated and just looked at Victor with guilt. “Victor, I will come to see you later, and afterwards I will make it up to you.”
Without hesitation, she left him behind and walked away quickly after speaking.
Watching her anxiously supporting Dorian while whispering and rushing outside, Victor’s lips curled into a mocking smile.
But this appearance became a feeling of being abandoned in the eyes of Gabriela and a few others.
“Hmph, I thought that by acting this way, it would make my sister feel a little pity for you. Turns out, she still abandoned you.”
“Victor, if you had a little self–awareness, you would leave the McCann family on your own.”
Victor ignored the group of people and borrowed an empty room from the servant. After applying medicine to himself and changing into a new set of clothes, he limped away.
Back at the villa, Victor went straight upstairs to pack his luggage.
After carrying the luggage downstairs, Victor casually placed the divorce agreement, which had been signed by both of them, on the table.
Just as I opened the door to leave, I was about to make eye contact with someone who was about to
enter.
Seeing Victor, Gabriela immediately started complaining, “Why are you running around? My sister asked me to bring you medicine. I don’t know what she was thinking. Instead of staying by Dorian’s side, she’s worried about you. She insisted that I come over, and I had to spend half the day looking for you!”
“I don’t need it. You better keep it for Dorian.”
Victor had a calm expression on his face and, after saying that, he pushed Gabriela’s hand away and
was about to leave.

It was also at this time that Gabriela finally saw the suitcase he was carrying in his hand.
Her expression changed dramatically as she grabbed Victor’s hand.
“What were you doing?”
Victor looked at him, his eyes showing no emotion.
“I carried my luggage, and you asked me what I was going to do? It’s obvious, I was going to leave.”
“Your sister liked Dorian, and you kept insisting on having Dorian as your brother–in–law. Now, I have taken the initiative to divorce and step aside for him.”
Gabriela’s eyes widened when she heard these words, and her whole body seemed to freeze, as if she couldn’t believe what she had just heard.
After all, it was well known within the industry just how much Victor loved Kaleigh before.
How could one just leave without saying anything nowadays?
She seemed to have understood something, her voice trembling slightly, “Victor, stop pretending. You loved my sister so much, you even begged to marry her back then. How could you now be the one to initiate a divorce? I understand now, you’re playing hard to get, but let me tell you, this trick won’t work on my sister.”
Victor’s gaze was calm. “Is it true that the divorce agreement is on the table? You can go and check its authenticity, Gabriela. You have been holding my hand all along, so you wouldn’t be reluctant to let me go, right?”
Upon hearing this, Gabriela instantly became furious and quickly let go of Victor’s hand.
“How is it possible? I couldn’t wait for you to leave immediately. Once you were gone, I would have set off fireworks to celebrate! If my sister knew that you left voluntarily, I can’t even imagine how happy she would be!”
I don’t know why, but the last sentence, she said it with particularly little confidence.
Victor, however, no longer looked at him and said, “Congratulations to all of you for getting what you wanted,” and then walked out of the room.
Watching his unhesitant figure disappear, Gabriela felt for the first time that something had completely slipped out of her control. Her heart inexplicably panicked, and she urgently called out
to him.
“Victor, where on earth are you going? Can’t you at least inform my sister!”

Victor’s action of pulling the suitcase paused slightly.
He turned around and looked at Gabriela, as well as the villa behind her.
In order to repay a debt, he pretended to love Kaleigh for five years, becoming the man who was
constantly pestering Kaleigh, as they would say.
In order to repay a debt of gratitude, he discarded his own dreams, gave up on his own future, and
threw away himself.
For the past five years, he worked hard to be a good husband, diligently taking care of household
chores, but he did not receive any respect or have any sense of self–worth.
He lived such a depressing life for a whole five years.
Finally, he finished his obligation and finally he welcomed freedom.
Victor laughed for the first time, laughing so sincerely and freely.
“I, I was going to live a life that belonged only to Victor.”
From now on, everything here has nothing to do with him.
Never again did we see the McCann family.
Goodbye, Kaleigh.
He waved his hand in a relieved manner, facing the moonlight, carrying a suitcase, and disappeared into the vast night…

Suddenly, I remembered that morning when we had light food. It seemed like he had handed me something to sign.
She was just busy chatting with Dorian at that time, so she didn’t notice.
Looking back now, that was the divorce agreement!
The documents in her hand were crumpled as she clenched them, and then she tore them into pieces, scattering them everywhere.
Did Victor divorce her?
This was undoubtedly the biggest joke in the world!
He loved himself so much that he could jump into the sea for himself. He was abandoned by himself
so many times, but he never got angry.
It seems that she has been busy taking care of Dorian recently, which made him a little jealous.
Five years of time can also make him jealous, anyway he will come back by himself at that time.
If he hadn’t come back yet…
No, he would come back.
Kaleigh was so certain, after all, there was no one in this world who loved her as much as Victor did.
In the following days, the servants in the villa tacitly never mentioned Victor again.
Until that day, Kaleigh brought Dorian back from the hospital.
Looking at the tasteless porridge in front of her, Gabriela threw down her spoon and shouted.
“Who made this porridge, Victor? Let him make us another bowl!”
The servant beside hesitated and spoke.
“Miss, the gentleman has not returned for the past few days, so…”
Gabriela suddenly opened her eyes wide.
Hasn’t Victor come back yet?
She always thought that Victor’s talk of divorce at that time was just a joke, after all, their family
was the only aristocratic family that Victor could ever climb up to in his lifetime, and anyone would hold on tightly to it.
