Chapter 3
After returning from the orphanage, Victor went straight upstairs and entered the walk–in closet to pack his belongings.
It was only then that he realized how little clothing he had.
Only the few sets of clothes that Kassandra gave him when they just got married, and his wife, who had been married for five years, never thought of buying him a piece of clothing.
After tidying up the clothes, Victor took all the gifts that had been given to Kaleigh over the years and sold them as scrap.
Over the years, in order to please her, he carefully prepared many birthday gifts for her, but she never even glanced at them.
These gifts were all thrown aside, accumulating a thick layer of dust on top.
As he watched the waste truck drive away, he was about to return to the villa when he heard a honk behind him.
He turned around and saw a Maybach parked in front of him.
A woman wearing a red dress got out of the car, and it was his sister–in–law Gabriela McCann.
Gabriela looked at the departing waste truck and snorted, then turned her head to size him up.
“He really is someone from a humble background, even selling cardboard boxes.”
Victor didn’t even look at her, he turned his head and was about to leave.
The mocking smile on Gabriela’s face suddenly disappeared, and she quickly stepped forward to grab him.
“Victor!”

DAY
Ever since Victor joined the McCann family, he has been constantly trying to please them, never
having been treated so coldly before.
Gabriela’s chest filled with anger in an instant as she dared to treat her like this now.
“Are you deaf? I was talking to you, and you didn’t hear me!”
Victor turned around and pulled his hand away, a hint of annoyance flickering in his eyes.
Gabriela never liked him, considering his background completely unfitting for the McCann family.
So for five years after marriage, she was constantly targeting him. If it wasn’t pouring out the
breakfast he made, it was stepping on the clothes he washed.

He was finally going to be free, and he didn’t want to grovel to the other person anymore. Gabriela was about to continue her outburst, but then she seemed to remember something and gave him a funny look.
“Sell more cardboard boxes, just like someone like you. You don’t even know. My sister’s beloved has returned. Finally, this man who has taken over someone else’s territory is going to leave.”
As soon as the words fell, another man wearing a white shirt came down behind her.
This was the first time Victor saw Dorian.
A pair of peach blossom eyes, filled with shimmering water ripples, black fragmented hair casually scattered, porcelain white skin, coincidentally wearing a simple white shirt, without any other accessories, yet still exuding an inexplicable charm.
The past five years of a broken and unbearable marriage did not leave any trace on him.
No wonder Kaleigh couldn’t forget it for so many years.
Upon hearing this, Dorian walked over and gently pulled Gabriela’s hand, saying, “Gabriela, don’t speak of Mr. Walton like that. He is your brother–in–law.”
“What brother–in–law, Dorian, I told you in the car, my sister has always liked you, and she has been thinking about you all these years. She goes abroad to see you once a week, and those gifts are -all bought by my sister for you. Can’t you see how my sister feels about you?”
After Gabriela finished speaking, she turned to the man in front of her and commanded, “What are you standing there for? Hurry up and bring Dorian’s luggage inside. My sister has agreed, Dorian is going to stay here.”
Victor glanced at the luggage, without bothering to tidy them up, and walked straight in.
Gabriela stomped her feet in frustration.
Finally, the driver walked in carrying the luggage, and just as Gabriela was about to angrily continue looking for trouble, Kaleigh hurriedly walked in from outside.
After her gaze fell on Dorian, who was sitting properly on the sofa, she breathed a sigh of relief and spoke to Victor on the other side.
“Dorian’s house had been unoccupied for many years and needed to be renovated, so he stayed with us for a few days during this period.”
Victor did not speak.
In the midst of silence, Dorian stood up with a look of distress on his face. “Kaleigh, maybe I should
just leave. After all, this is your marital home, and Mr. Walton seems a bit unhappy…‘

Kaleigh immediately reached out to stop him, “No need to leave, he has always been generous and won’t get angry over such a trivial matter.”
Silently watching this scene, Victor finally spoke, a smile playing at the corners of his lips.
“I indeed did not get angry over such a trivial matter, Mr. Madden, you may continue to reside here peacefully.”
After all, this home would eventually belong to Dorian.
