Chapter 20
The people in the entire base felt very strange. On that day, Beckham, who had left a fierce impression on them, smiled with delight in his eyes and eyebrows.
Every time he met someone, he would ask them if his black T–shirt looked good.
Nobody in the base dared defy him, so they could only nod and agree, replying, “You look especially good and handsome in it.‘
He burst into a joyful smile after hearing it.
This matter was discussed by the people in the infirmary, and Graysen also heard bits of it.
He felt jealous for an instant.
In the past, almost all of the clothes in his house were bought by Caroline. Although she spoke little, she treated Graysen very well.
In the past, she bought him black T–shirts in the summer and cotton–padded coats in the winter. From inside to outside, Caroline covered everything.
She spent little on herself and most of her salary was spent on him.
Even if someone joked that she was raising a man, she would sweetly smile and not argue.
But she changed the person she took care of.
He paid extra attention to Caroline’s actions today and noticed that she spent quite a while in the men’s clothing section. When she came out, she was carrying a package.
He didn’t pay attention at that time.
Looking back now, he believed it must be the clothes she bought for Beckham.
The thought of her buying clothes for another man stabbed him like a steel needle, piercing deep in
his heart. He felt his heart was trembling with pain.
The jealousy in his heart almost drove him crazy, but he no longer dared to look for her.
He was afraid of the coldness and hatred in her eyes, which was more painful than killing him.
As he recalled the sweetness and everything that had happened between them, he felt wronged, and
his eyes turned red. At that moment, the phone beside him rang.
He answered it. It was the voice of Eleanor’s mother.
“When will you come back? When will you marry Marlene? Her family has come to my home
several times.

“Don’t delay it.”
Graysen immediately retorted impatiently,
“Mom! Stop meddling, okay? I don’t love her. I love Caroline.
“The ceremony between me and Marlene was just a pretense. It was fake. I couldn’t marry her.”
Graysen patiently explained over the phone. But he didn’t notice that Marlene had been
eavesdropping outside the door. She had turned into a ferocious expression, with bulging veins on her hands holding the lunchbox.
But she couldn’t confront Graysen head–on. A plan was quietly taking shape in her mind.
The next day, a journalist from the Noredge national channel came to the base for an interview.
Beckham had arranged for the entire team to enter the office for interviews in turn, except Graysen in the infirmary and Caroline on the training field.
Originally, it was agreed that each person’s interview time would be 15 minutes, but when it was
Marlene’s turn, she took up a whole half hour.
Fortunately, the team members also knew about her character and didn’t bother with her.
No one paid attention to this little incident, but the next day, Caroline was stopped by a female journalist on her way to the training field.
“Are you Caroline?” The female journalist, Lina Jayrox, spoke Caroline’s language fluently,
without any accent.
Caroline nodded.
“Can I take up a little of your time to interview you?”
“Sorry, I’m busy and couldn’t take the interview.” With that, Caroline lifted her foot to leave but abruptly stopped upon hearing the next sentence.
“Didn’t you feel tired dealing with two soldiers at the same time? After all, it takes a lot of strength for a threesome. I heard that you even lost your child because of this.”
