Chapter 10
After sending that message, Caroline blocked Marlene, vowing never to deal with that hypocritical
bitch.
As she thought of it, a strange sense of satisfaction stirred within her heart.
Caroline checked all her documents one by one, ensuring everything was in order for her trip abroad tomorrow, then turned off the lights and climbed into bed.
Though she hadn’t been physically injured, Caroline hadn’t fully recovered yet, and she needed
rest.
In the face of time, nothing was insurmountable, just like the death of her parents and just like the pain she had parted Graysen.
The next morning, after a quick call with Kieran, she grabbed a taxi to the airport. Graysen’s messages kept flooding in, but she didn’t reply to a single one.
Words were unnecessary. She knew he’d appreciate the “parting gift” she had prepared for him.
Graysen anxiously stared at his phone. Since this morning, an overwhelming sense of unease had
been building inside him.
He was about to call Caroline when Eleanor, sitting beside him, stopped him with a glare.
“She likes you so much that she wouldn’t run off. Stop panicking. Don’t you think you should call
your relatives and check if they’ve arrived? And those teammates of yours… You’re a grown man,
and you shouldn’t keep me worrying about everything!”
Eleanor grumbled under her breath, completely unconcerned with the situation at hand.
By 2 PM, the wedding banquet hall was packed.
Graysen stood on the stage, a smile plastered on his face. Just as the emcee was urging him to get
ready, the doors to the hall opened, and a bride, dressed in white, walked into the music.
But when the bride lifted her veil, Graysen’s smile slowly froze.
The bride wasn’t Caroline. It was Marlene.
Whispers erupted from the crowd.
Graysen’s expression shifted. He rushed over to Marlene, gripping her hand tightly, and demanded, “Why are you here? Where is Caroline?”
Marlene, startled by the anger on his face, teared up and winced in pain as she struggled to explain, “I don’t know. She told me to wear the trial dress today and come to the wedding…‘

Before he could ask anything else, a male voice echoed from the entrance of the hall. “Is Graysen here? You have a delivery.”
Meanwhile, Caroline had already blocked every contact related to Graysen.
She also deleted every post carrying memories of their romance.
One by one, all of them were wiped clean.
Just then, her phone rang. She picked up, and Violet’s voice came through. “Caroline, aren’t you getting married today? Where are you?”
“I’m not getting married. I don’t want him anymore. I’m going abroad for a job. Take care.”
After a few more words, Caroline hung up the phone.
With a final glance in the direction of the bomb squad, Caroline dragged her suitcase and boarded the plane. “Noredge, I’m coming.”
