Chapter 5
The second he said that, Vincent and Aria both panicked.[]
Hunter lifted his foot off my chest and rushed to Phoebe’s bedside, his eyes instantly welling up.
“Baby girl, Daddy’s here. How are you feeling?“]]
“If anything still hurts, you tell Daddy, okay?“]
“I’ll get the best doctors in the world to take care of you. You’re gonna be just fine.“[]
Seeing her father after barely surviving death, all of Phoebe’s fear and pain came flooding back. Tears streamed down her face immediately.[]
She gripped his hand tight, her eyes filled with the gratitude of someone who’d cheated death. She tried to tell him about the torture she’d endured, but her throat was too damaged to speak.]
Seeing this, Hunter immediately softened his voice.
“Baby, don’t be scared. Daddy’s gonna rip apart whoever hurt you!“]
“Sophia messed with you, so she’s gonna DIE for it!“]
When Phoebe heard my name, she shook her head like crazy.[]
Hunter figured she was just freaked out and growled: “Sweetheart, you’re too good–hearted. That psycho doesn’t deserve your pity!”
Since Phoebe couldn’t talk properly, Vincent jumped in with his fake concern.]]
“Mr. Hawthorne, Phoebe just made it through–maybe let her rest up first.“[]
“She’s been through hell. Seeing any blood might mess her up even worse.”
Meanwhile, Aria was working the other staff, getting everyone to say I was some kind of maniac killer.[].
“Mr. Hawthorne, you’re So right!“[]
“A psycho like Sophia who tries to kill innocent kids deserves to rot in hell!“[]
“Whatever Phoebe suffered should come back to bite Sophia a thousand times worse!”
Hunter stared at his daughter–pale as a ghost and barely hanging on–and his heart shattered with pure rage.
He gently coaxed her: “Baby, just rest. Daddy’s got this.”
“Whoever hurt you is gonna, pay.“[]
Hunter whipped around to face me, his eyes turning into those of a predator. He hissed to his bodyguards:[]
“Get me fifty starved sharks! She’s gonna be FIISH FOOD!“]]
When Phoebe heard this, she used every ounce of strength to grab Hunter’s sleeve.[]
Chapter 5
Blood spilled from her mouth as she gasped:[]
“Don’t hurt Sophia… she’s not the bad guy–she SAVED me!“]
The second she said that, Vincent and Aria went white as sheets, shaking like leaves.[]
“Quick, get a doctor over here NOW!“]]
Hunter yelled at the medical staff, but Phoebe shook her head desperately to stop them.[]
“Dad… listen…”
She looked at me with tremendous effort, gasping out fragments:]
“Sophia… saved me…” “O
“She knew… I was alive… she stopped them…“]
“Protected me…kept giving me mouth–to–mouth… even got stabbed…“[]
Turns out even though she’d been unconscious, she’d sensed everything happening around her.
Hunter was stunned–he’d almost killed the person who saved his daughter!
He immediately ordered his men to carry me to the best VIP room for treatment. Only then did Phoebe close her eyes in relief.[]
She struggled to lift her finger, pointing at Vincent and Aria. Her voice was weak but full of rage:]
“Dad… those two… tried to kill me…”
“Poisoned me… fake death certificate… gonna burn me alive…“[]
“Even tried… kill Sophia…“[]
“Without her… you’d never see me again…“[]
Hunter squeezed her hand tight, his eyes flooding with tsunami–level killing intent.
“Don’t worry, baby. Daddy won’t let ANY of those MONSTERS get away with this!!”
