“Vincent, are you trying to get us KILLED?“]
“Dumping us in the hallway–what if something happens to Phoebe?!“[]
But he couldn’t care less: “Not my problem.“[]
“I just know Aria loves watching nosy bitches like you get what’s coming to them.“[]
The paramedics looked like they wanted to say something but were intimidated by his years of authority. In the end, they had no choice but to follow Vincent and leave.[]
Waiting in that hallway, I felt sharp pain in my chest and struggled to breathe. Blood kept seeping from my wounds.]
Phoebe’s condition was getting worse by the minute–she stopped breathing multiple times. I kept giving her mouth–to–mouth resuscitation, barely keeping her alive.
That was the only thing stopping her from dying completely.
But I was pale as death from blood loss, my limbs ice cold.]
By the time hospital security found us, I’d already collapsed on the floor. He rushed us to the ER for emergency treatment.]
Phoebe was getting urgent care in the trauma room while I was placed on an observation bed in the hallway.[]
That’s when Hunter Hawthorne finally arrived, looking like he’d traveled through hell. He roared in absolute fury:[]
“It was just a minor surgery–how the FUCK did my daughter end up like this?“]
“Which piece of shit hurt my daughter? GET OUT HERE NOW!“[]
Murderous rage radiated from every inch of his body, his eyes promising brutal death.[]
Within minutes, hundreds of men in black suits surrounded the entire hospital like a fortress.
Vincent frowned and yelled arrogantly:]
“Who the hell are you? What gives you the right to raise hell in the hospital?“]
Without a word, one of the bodyguards kicked him flying into the wall. His entire row of teeth got knocked loose, blood pouring from his mouth.
The medical staff watching trembled as they whispered:[]
“He actually dared mess with the boss?! Does he have a death wish?!!“[]
“Everyone knows how ruthless Hunter Hawthorne is–he’s totally screwed!!“]
Everyone turned white with terror. Aria’s legs went weak and she collapsed on the floor, unable to move.[]
The emergency team felt doom approaching and were regretting everything, wishing they could disappear into the ground.[]

“If you don’t start talking NOW, I’ll tear you apart piece by piece–and don’t blame me for being brutal!“[]
Vincent covered his bloody mouth and pointed at me with shaking hands.[]
“It was Sophia! Right…Sophia! Sophia did it!“]
“She blocked us from saving Aria and deliberately poisoned your daughter!!“[]
Aria immediately caught on and jumped in, tears streaming down her face:]
“Yeah! It’s her! She was always taking her shit out on Phoebe because the kid was so sweet and innocent. She even put poison in her medicine–she’s completely PSYCHO!“]
“Boss, you gotta get justice for Phoebe!“]
Hunter’s killer instinct locked onto me like a heat–seeking missile. Seeing me barely breathing on that bed, he exploded and backhanded me across the face.]
“Don’t think playing dead’s gonna save your ass–you hurt my little girl and I’ll make you BEG for DEATH!“[]
He grabbed a fistful of my hair and yanked me off the bed onto the floor. My wounds that had finally stopped bleeding ripped open again.
Blood spread across the tiles like spilled paint.[]
The brutal pain jolted me awake.]
My head was still spinning. Hunter planted his foot on my chest and ground down hard.[]
“TALK! Why did you poison my daughter?!“]
I was too weak to speak–could only open my mouth helplessly. He pressed down harder and I heard my ribs crack like twigs.[]
The agony made me convulse and shake, cold sweat pouring off me like rain.[]
Vincent and Aria watched from the sidelines, loving every second of it.[]
“Still won’t confess? Then don’t blame me for getting creative!“]
He pulled out a knife and pressed it against my throat. The blade slowly cut into my skin, blood dripping down the steel.[]
Just then, the trauma room doors burst open. A bodyguard immediately shouted:[]
“Boss! Phoebe’s out!”
