Chapter 16
Heart ache?
Hearing this word, Ethan was full of shock and confusion.
He didn’t understand. She clearly knew the truth now, so why was she still asking such a pointless question?
Why should he feel bad? What right did he have to feel bad? Everything was achieved through his own efforts.
Ethan only regretted not getting rid of Nathan when Olivia loved him the most.
If only he had become a dead man, everything that followed wouldn’t have happened.
But Ethan wasn’t stupid. He knew what he should say, so he quickly squeezed out two tears.
“Of course I feel bad! I shouldn’t have done this. I really regret it. I could have gotten along harmoniously with Mr. Xu. Even though he wasn’t as good to me as you were, but…”
“You don’t feel bad at all! You’re even regretting why you didn’t let him die earlier!”

This time, Olivia finally saw through Ethan’s clumsy lies, even discerning his thoughts from his subtle expressions.
At this moment, Olivia couldn’t help feeling how stupid she had been!
The heart condition – she could have learned the truth just by asking at the hospital.
Ethan’s malice towards Nathan was so simple and obvious, she could have discovered it just by looking and thinking carefully.
And… Sophie’s favoritism towards Ethan was even more apparent.
Why, why did she only realize all this now?
She couldn’t hold back any longer. She raised her fist, unleashing all her anger and pain on Ethan.
Punch after punch, screams of agony echoed through the dark detention
Mrs. Fu was so frightened she cowered in a corner, not daring to speak.
General Sullivan watched coldly without saying a word.

When Olivia finally stopped, exhausted, he looked at the badly beaten man and called in the servants from outside: “You dog! How dare you drive away my good son–in–law! And sow discord between my two daughters! You’ve even made our Sullivan family lose face in society!”
“For the rest of your life! You can go rot in the place you belong!”
Hearing the words “good son–in–law” again, Olivia’s face changed once more.
Seeing his fate sealed, Ethan could no longer pretend to be unconscious.
He struggled to get up, his bloody face twisted grotesquely.
“Why?! Why are you treating me like this?! It’s because you were all too stupid. I only did one thing, pouring that chicken soup on him! I regret so much not burning Olivia’s face instead, then he wouldn’t want you anymore! Then you would have obediently come
to me!”
The chicken soup incident being brought up again, Olivia staggered back a few steps, even her breathing becoming labored.
She couldn’t imagine how disappointed Nathan, as her husband, must have felt when she abandoned him and left with Ethan.
Seeing the guards enter, Ethan laughed maniacally.
“You were the one who hit him, you were the one who drove him away. Again and again you hurt him, disappointed him. It was
all you!”
“Olivia! You were the one who came to me at night, who didn’t go home for half a month, who took care of me, who gave me
gifts in front of him. It was all you, every time! I just played some small tricks on the side! Even if I’m wrong, I’m the least guilty! If it wasn’t for your favoritism, how would I have dared to shamelessly try to steal his love! All the pain he suffered, you’re just as
much to blame as I am!”
Olivia rushed over and grabbed Ethan by the throat, her face contorted.
“You’re talking nonsense! It was clearly you taking advantage of my lingering feelings, sowing discord. You’re the real culprit! If I had known earlier what kind of person you were, back then. I never would have been with you! You’ll get what’s coming to you! You

At this point, Ethan knew he had completely fallen out with Olivia.
He no longer felt any fear and spat in Olivia’s face.
“Retribution!! Fine, I’ll wait for it. But Olivia, before that, congratulations on finally losing your true love forever! Hahaha!”
These mad ravings fell on Olivia’s ears like oil poured on fire.
Olivia wiped the spit off her face in disgust and kicked Ethan hard in the stomach.
The once graceful and generous princess of high society had become crazed.
Ethan’s agonized screams echoed through the air.
If General Sullivan hadn’t urged people to drag Ethan away, Olivia might have beaten him to death right there.
Watching Ethan being dragged off, she turned to Mrs. Fu, but seeing her terrified expression, Olivia suddenly lowered her hand
and walked out.
Olivia finally understood more clearly than anyone that no matter how much she took revenge or repented,
Nathan would never come back.
And where she was going now would never give her another chance to see Nathan.
Looking up at the car sent to pick her up, Olivia closed her eyes, her hands trembling uncontrollably in her sleeves.
She resigned from all her positions in the Sullivan Group and voluntarily proposed to her father that she serve as an ordinary
female soldier in peacekeeping missions abroad for a few years as punishment for herself.
Finally about to leave this place where she had lived with Nathan for three years,
Those words about losing her true love forever still echoed in her ears.
Olivia closed her eyes, tears sliding down her cheeks.
The bone–deep pain hit her like a fierce storm.
“Nathan! If I can make it back alive, I’ll definitely find you, apologize to you, and then…”
“Marry you again!”
