Chapter 13
Meanwhile, Olivia stopped her car and looked up at the plane flying overhead, feeling a sense of foreboding.
She instinctively wanted to get back in the car and hurry to see Nathan, but was stopped by Sophie.
“Olivia! Where are you going? Let’s hurry to see Ethan!”
Sophie frowned, her tone becoming somewhat dissatisfied, even changing how she addressed Olivia.
Could it be that her sister was still thinking about that orphan Nathan? What was so good about him? How could he compare to Ethan? Why was her sister so obsessed with him?
“-Sophie!!”
The feeling of panic growing stronger, Olivia looked at Sophie’s hand holding her back, anger flashing across her brow.
But the next second, she saw Ethan’s pitiful gaze looking at her from afar, and her heart softened again.
She must have been mistaken. How could Nathan possibly be on that plane?
He must still be obediently waiting for her to come home.
Thinking of this, the last trace of panic disappeared.
A military Jeep stopped in front of her.
Olivia frowned. The Wang family’s license plate from their social circle?
Though they weren’t as high–ranking as the Sullivan family, she hadn’t heard of anyone from the Wang family being here.
“Let’s go in.”
Olivia didn’t think too much about it. She nodded at Sophie and turned to enter the hospital.
Inside the hospital, Ethan’s parents were beaming with joy, telling everyone about the double happiness – not only had Ethan recovered, but he was about to marry General Sullivan’s precious daughter. They even showed off the ring on Ethan’s finger.
Olivia felt uncomfortable. What did they mean by marrying her? She was Nathan’s wife and always would be. That would never
change.
She had only reluctantly agreed to wear that ring to cooperate with Ethan’s treatment.
But no matter what, that ring could never compare to the one on Nathan’s finger.
Ethan walked over, pressing close to Olivia, suddenly looking pitiful: “Olivia, why aren’t you happy on the day I’m discharged? Are you still worried Mr. Xu will be upset? It’s okay, he won’t hear what my parents said.”

“If you’re really worried Mr. Xu will get angry, then let’s part ways here. I’ll be fine, you don’t need to worry about my health.”
“At worst, I’ll just die. After all, if I can’t have you in this life, I might as well be dead.”
His tried and true method of reverse psychology once again ignited Sophie’s anger.
Thinking of Nathan’s desperate and pained expression, hearing Sophie’s cursing, Ethan felt very satisfied.
He even couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
At this moment, some hospital visitors who had heard Sophie’s scolding and Ethan’s parents‘ boasting recognized the Sullivan sisters and recalled Olivia’s incident three years ago.
It seemed the man called Ethan today was the one who had run away from the wedding back then.
Then the Sullivan family’s eldest daughter had directly married another man named Nathan Xu.
Faced with these people’s questions, Sophie’s anger grew even stronger. She started listing all of Nathan’s faults.
“Back then, it was because my brother Ethan was in poor health and couldn’t attend the wedding.”
“As a result, that orphan Nathan Xu seized the opportunity to climb the social ladder.”
Sophie didn’t forget to put others down while elevating herself. She wanted everyone to know that Ethan and Olivia were the rightful couple.
Olivia clenched her fists, wanting to rebuke Sophie.
But thinking of Ethan’s heart condition, afraid he would do something extreme again, she ultimately didn’t speak up.
It’s fine, she would clarify everything once Ethan was better.
As for Nathan, she would just have to coax him. He would surely understand.
Hearing even the Sullivan family’s second daughter Sophie say this, everyone finally dispelled their last doubts and began talking about how Nathan had “seized the opportunity” and “climbed the social ladder” three years ago.
Hearing everyone speak with such righteous indignation, Ethan suddenly felt that this was the most wonderful moment of his
life.
But soon, he noticed the previously lively scene suddenly grow quiet.
He saw Miss Wang, who he had been intimate with just yesterday, walk in with a stern–faced military officer, followed by a group of soldiers.
“Dad! It’s him! He’s two–timing! He played me!”
Miss Wang walked up to Ethan, tears streaming down her face.
“Dad! You have to get justice for me. Thank goodness Mr. Xu told me, otherwise if your daughter had really married him, what would happen to our Wang family’s reputation?”
Mr. Xu?!

Amidst the commotion,
Olivia was only stunned for a moment before suddenly recalling the plane that had flown overhead.
In an instant, her eyes reddened. She grabbed Miss Wang’s arm, her voice suddenly hoarse:
“Where’s Nathan? I need to see Nathan!”
