Windy made her decision without hesitation, agreeing to Samuel’s proposal. She wanted this gamble over with as soon as possible.
Without wasting another word, the two of them began.
The attendant brought over a fresh deck of cards and placed it neatly on the table.
Mr. Samuel made a slight gesture. “Ladies first. You shuffle for the first round.”
Windy didn’t bother with politeness. It didn’t matter who shuffled–the outcome of this gamble had already been decided in
her heart.
She picked up the deck, her fingers moving skillfully between the cards, each movement smooth and fluid, like a dance she had long since mastered.
The cards leapt and fluttered between her fingers, and every flick carried a crisp, clean snap.
Her movements were light, yet controlled.
Up in the VIP seating, more than one person was stunned.
Such a young girl, and her shuffling was already this masterful.
No wonder she dared to challenge Mr. Samuel.
Mr. Samuel’s brows lifted slightly as he watched her hands move. She had come prepared.
But no matter. He still trusted his own unbeatable skill.
When Windy finished shuffling, she began to deal the cards.
First card dealt.
Windy didn’t even glance at it. She already knew it was a king of spades.
Mr. Samuel didn’t look either, his dark gaze pinned squarely on the girl acros
from him.
Only after all three cards were dealt did they lift them from the table.
Windy’s hand: three kings.
Mr. Samuel’s: three queens.
The moment the cards were revealed, there was a flicker of something in Samuel’s eyes–at of gloom, and then something like amusement.
Shadow’s sharp intake of breath broke the silence.
“Congratulations to Ms. Sue! First round victory!”
The room erupted in cheers.
No one had beaten Samuel before.
Windy winning the first round set the entire atmosphere ablaze with excitement.
In everyone’s heart, they still believed Samuel must have deliberately let her win.

Chapter 16 Winning the Gamble
Ben Yale had already cursed in his head a dozen times.
Holy sh*t. This a real gamble between monsters.
Thank god he had decided to stay.
Otherwise, he would have missed the most incredible showdown of the year.
For the first time ever, someone had forced Mr. Samuel to offer terms in a gamble.
The second round began.
This time, Mr. Samuel shuffled the cards.
Bright lights washed over the table, casting soft glows across the surface, illuminating every tiny texture in the cards.
Samuel’s hands moved solemnly, as if performing a sacred ritual.
The entire hall fell into a tense silence, all eyes riveted to the way he handled the deck.
Had it not been for the strict no–photo policy at Pleasure Cove, people would have already whipped out their phones to snap pictures, record videos, and show off to their friends about witnessing the legendary Mr. Samuel in action.
He pulled the cards into a perfect line, pressed them together, tossed them up, caught them again in a flawless stack.
Cards flicked and slid between his hands, weaving a complex tapestry of movement.
Windy, watching quietly, couldn’t help but admire it.
As expected of a true gambling king
No one else could shuffle like that.
Finally, he finished and began to deal.
Three cards each.
Neither side bothered to drag it out. They both flipped their cards at once.
Windy: a pair of queens and a nine.
Mr. Samuel: a pair of kings and a nine.
With Shadow and Nightshade’s excited shrieks, the room exploded again.
It was practically a tie.
Samuel edged out a win for the second round.
Once again, his gaze landed on Windy, a rare hint of doubt in his eyes.
In all these years, no one had ever given him a real challenge.
The third and final round began.
The dealer, visibly shaking, stepped forward to shuffle.
In his years of working at Pleasure Cove, he had never imagined he would one day shuffle cards for Mr. Samuel himself. The third hand was dealt.
Samuel, feeling certain of victory, immediately flipped his cards open without waiting.

He threw back his head and laughed loudly.

Inside his private lounge. Samuel sat slumped on the couch, unable to calm down.
Today had turned his world upside down.
His reputation as the undefeated gambling god had been shattered.
But more importantly, there was finally a lead on the man who had destroyed his family.
And both of these earthquakes had come from the same person–Windy
He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
