Renee came back to her senses and shook her head. “He is a doctor. He has his own things to do. He shouldn’t be around me all day.
“Mom, I know you want to get us together. Jeromy is indeed a very good person, but we are not suitable.”
Renee’s hand subconsciously touched her lower abdomen, with a trace of sadness in her
eyes.
No one knew a daughter better than her mother and Renee’s mother knew Renee’s worries.
“Renee, these are your own thoughts. What if Jeromy doesn’t mind?”
Renee’s mouth showed a trace of helplessness as she answered, “Mom, even if he doesn’t mind, what about his grandma?
“Jeromy doesn’t care now because he likes me. All I have is his love. What if one day he doesn’t like me anymore?
“Things like love are the most unpredictable. Mom, you’ve been through this before. You and Dad loved each other when you were together, but didn’t you end up getting divorced?” Renee’s words made Renee’s mother speechless. She sighed heavily and said, “Well, all I want is to find someone who can take care of you. If you really don’t want to, forget it.”
Renee’s mother turned around and left to go back to her room.
Renee sat on the sofa, quietly watching these people move their things away.
Soon, Jeromy’s room was emptied, as if no one had ever lived there.
After sitting in the living room for a long time, Renee went upstairs to wash up.
Lying on the bed, a message popped up on Renee’s phone.
It was the good news that Felix and Iva were about to get married.
Seeing this, Renee’s face suddenly darkened.
“You two are living a good life.” After making the sarcasm, Renee sent a message to Percy, asking him to prepare his things.
There would be a big gift on their wedding day.
Renee did not sleep well that night and even when she fell asleep she had nightmares.
In the next few days, Jeromy seemed to have disappeared from the world. He did not take the initiative to contact Renee and no news was heard from him.
There was a dinner party for the Gilbert Group in the evening and the makeup artist was helping Renee with her makeup.
Renee’s assistant came in, “Ms. Jackson, we need a male companion for the dinner. Do, you have anyone? We need to match clothes.”
Renee glanced at the chat box with Jeromy. The two had not chatted since three days ago.

That day was the banquet of Gilbert’s Group, so Jeromy should be aware of it.
He had not come yet, probably because he did not want to come.

When the assistant was about to go out to make arrangements, Renee stopped her.
“Wait a minute, I’ll contact him.”
Renee called Jeromy, but the call was not answered for a long time.
Renee’s heart sank inch by inch.
She thought Jeromy was different from others.
That was right, she had already rejected Jeromy, so why should he still follow her?
She and Jeromy were originally in a doctor–patient relationship. Once the illness was cured, of course the doctor would leave.
Renee suppressed the disappointment in her heart, looked at the assistant in the mirror and said, “Go and help me find another man.”
Before she could finish her words, the door was pushed open from the outside.
Jeromy was covered in dust, but the person behind him was holding a skirt.
“Sorry, I’m late. I heard that there was an auction in Country Y. The item being auctioned was a dress left behind by a princess from the royal family of Country Y, so I went to Country Y and bought it.”
The assistant behind her brought the skirt up. Although it was covered by a transparent dust bag, one could still vaguely see how complicated the skirt was.
