Chapter 3
Just then, the passenger next to me yelled, “Bryan, open your eyes and look at me! Don’t scare me!”
The child, Bryan Hatton, who had been awake just a moment ago, now looked like he was about to pass out from blood loss.
Maisie immediately announced over the intercom, asking if there were any medical personnel onboard, and I hurried to grab the medical kit. “Hang in there! We’ll be landing in around 20 minutes!”
But right when I opened the medical kit, Leila kicked it aside.
She stomped on the oxygen mask and shouted, “Jordyn, I’m talking to you! Are you ignoring me? How dare you try to threaten me?”
This book had been added on your bookshelf.
I stared at the broken oxygen mask and slapped her across the face.
“Leila, what you’re doing is basically the same as killing him!”
She let out a mocking laugh.
“It’s just a life. Why make such a big fuss? If it wasn’t for them, I’d be relaxing and watching a movie with Ray right now instead of staying late at work!
“So what if he’s dead? He’s not my child. Maybe he was meant to die anyway!”
When Leila spat out those cruel words, the mayor’s wife, Celine Grie looked up with tears streaming down her face.

“You’re a flight attendant on this flight, right? Once we land, I swear I’ll report you and get you fired!”
Leila gave her a cold glare.
“Report me? Don’t you think I could just end your son’s life right now?”
Right after saying that, Leila stomped over, grabbed Bryan’s collar, and yanked him up from his seat.
She didn’t need much strength. She pressed on his injured arm, making him cry out in pain while sweat covered his forehead.
“Bryan!”
Celine looked terrified. She undid her seatbelt and stood up.
“What are you trying to do to my son? Let him go!”
The air marshal and flight attendants didn’t dare intervene, afraid that if they moved, Leila might hurt Bryan even more in her rage.
For a moment, the first–class cabin was filled with a heavy, nervous
silence.
Only Leila looked relaxed, even flashing a smile as she watched the
chaos.
“See? He’s awake now, isn’t he? I told you, Ma’am, I helped your son regain consciousness, and yet you want to report me? How is that fair?”
Celine’s cheeks were streaked with tears as her legs gave out, and she collapsed to her knees in front of Leila.
“I promise I won’t report you. Please, just give my son back to me. He’s just a child,”

Leila clicked her tongue in annoyance.
“Ugh, this stupid kid! His nasty blood ruined my dress!”
Meanwhile, the plane started its descent, preparing for landing.
The sudden stop threw everyone who wasn’t buckled up forward.
I used the chance to lunge ahead and tried to pull Bryan away from her grasp.
But as we struggled, Leila suddenly caught hold of Bryan’s injured arm.
“Ah!”
Bryan’s heart–wrenching wail rang in my ears, and I immediately let go. Leila shoved him aside with a look of pure disgust.
Bryan dropped to the floor; his body was limp and lifeless.
Celine nearly passed out and had to be supported back to her seat by a flight attendant.
“This isn’t my fault. Jordyn was the one yanking him around! And look at this, that damn kid even stained my limited–edition dress! You’d better pay for it when we land.”
I couldn’t hold back my fury any longer. I charged at Leila, clamping my hands around her throat.
“Once we land, you’d be rotting in jail!”
